So it appears that Iran has decided to start shooting their hypersonic missiles at Israel. This is going to greatly go against Trump and his statement that they have destroyed 90% of Iran capabilities and that their are no more targets to hit as they struck Israel for a sustained 3 hours. I believe we are going to see some pivots from the US soon about what is happening within this war.

Around the Network

One of the narratives have been that Iran shooting missiles were decreased so much that US has destroyed a good deal of their capabilities. From what reports are saying, it appears that the US and Israel underestimated what Iran was doing. The first wave, they sent their old munitions to look for weak points in the US Israel missile defenses and deplete US and Israel interceptors. Now that they have probed the defenses and exhausted the defense, now Iran is sending their real munitions which has penetrated Israel defenses and is causing a lot of damage. These bigger faster missiles are the real threat and is where the war starts to get very dangerous. Even now, the US isn't willing to send any of their ships within a 1000 miles of Iran because that threat they said wasn't there is still very much there.

Yeah as predicted. The 12 day June war was 12 days because that's when the stock of interceptors ran critically low. We're now on day 13, Iran has much more freedom of the skies and is now moving on from their 20 year old arsenal to more modern and bigger missiles.

Iran war, energy shock one of the "worst crises in decades," says John Kerry

Former US Secretary of State John Kerry said that the energy shock resulting from the United States and Israel’s war with Iran is one of the worst global crises in decades.

“It’s very dangerous,” Kerry told CNN’s Max Foster Thursday at the Sustainable Markets Initiative summit in London. “I hope diplomacy will re-enter in a very forceful way in the next days… It’s incredibly important for the world that folks find an off-ramp here.”

Kerry said the crisis was one of the worst in decades and could get “even more out of control.” “You’ve seen what’s happened to (energy) prices – that will flow down into everybody’s economy if it goes on too long,” he said.

Having worked closely with the Iranians during the negotiations by the Obama administration which led to the 2015 nuclear deal, Kerry warned that Tehran could drag the conflict out, inflicting further economic pain. “No one should underestimate Iran’s capacity to conduct asymmetrical warfare. They’ve proven it previously. They are practised at it,” he said. “I just don’t know to what degree – if at all – those considerations were taken into account here in the (Trump administration’s) decision-making.”

Shortly after CNN’s interview with Kerry, Iran’s new supreme leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, said the Strait of Hormuz – through which around a fifth of the world’s oil ordinarily flows – would remain closed, putting further upward pressure on energy prices.

Kerry said the crisis could underscore the importance of “energy independence – of not being held hostage to other people’s choices,” as with the oil shock of 1973. “I think this will remind people and perhaps speed up some of the transition in energy,” he said.

Trump's response:

Trump says rising oil prices make the US money

President Donald Trump has said that when oil prices go up, the US makes money. “The United States is the largest Oil Producer in the World, by far, so when oil prices go up, we make a lot of money”, he wrote in a Truth Social post.

He added that of “greater interest and importance” is stopping Iran from having nuclear weapons and “destroying the Middle East and, indeed, the world.”

That last part is indeed Trump/Netanyahu's goal.
