One of the narratives have been that Iran shooting missiles were decreased so much that US has destroyed a good deal of their capabilities. From what reports are saying, it appears that the US and Israel underestimated what Iran was doing. The first wave, they sent their old munitions to look for weak points in the US Israel missile defenses and deplete US and Israel interceptors. Now that they have probed the defenses and exhausted the defense, now Iran is sending their real munitions which has penetrated Israel defenses and is causing a lot of damage. These bigger faster missiles are the real threat and is where the war starts to get very dangerous. Even now, the US isn't willing to send any of their ships within a 1000 miles of Iran because that threat they said wasn't there is still very much there.
