I cannot believe FIFA on the Switch beat God of War. That aside, those Switch numbers are insane.

The absence of some games may be explained by their multiplatform split:

  • Elden Ring 120.000 units (PS4, PS5, Xbone, XSeries & PC)
  • GoW: Ragnarok almost 100.000 each SKU

Daym comparing this to the week 50 thread this means that Switch sold over 65k in the last 2 week, that's insane. And it actually ended up being up YoY, crazy stuff. Makes me wonder if there are other smaller markets where sales held from last year, give or take a few percentages.

PS and Xbox both seem to have sold around 20k in the last two weeks, impressive for the Xbox, underwhelming for the PS5, but I expect it will make up for it in other markets.

Sales of last two weeks in Spain are a bit lower, there have been some adjustment up during previous weeks to match Gamereactor data:

Week 51260009500300038500
Week 52260006000300035000
Cumulative45660017833894600729538

Weeks 51+52

Nintendo Switch Sports (Switch): 31.000 / 190.000
Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope (Switch): 23.000 / ¿?

Switch: 52.000 / >460.000 YTD / 2.500.000 LTD
PS5: 15.500 / >180.000 YTD
XBS: 6.000 / >96.000 YTD
Meta Quest 2: ¿? / ~30.000 YTD

Thank you again, polofresco! :)

Since I dont know spanish, i had let translate the gamereactor article to english by a browser-addon.

One part says:
"Sony has managed to sneak Kratos and Atreus into the middle of the table, but everything above is more than 100,000 copies, something that the Game of the Year only achieves by combining both consoles. "

Due to that part, I assume that everything until Animal Crossing was >100k in 2022, and everything else below 100k.
So GoW on PS4+PS5 combined probably is something like 180-190k.

If someone is familiar with spanish, maybe he can double-check it.

"Sony ha conseguido colar a Kratos y Atreus a mitad de tabla, pero todo por encima son más de 100.000 copias, algo que el Juego del Año solo consigue combinando ambas consolas"

You’re right @dadandy, I’ll change the post once I arrived home.

Thank you!

Damn Xbox got adjusted up like crazy then. Not sure if that's good or bad though if it only sold 3k per week around Christmas.

Still, while there may not be enough PS5s to push that version, there are definitely enough PS4s to outsell the worst version of FIFA for multiple years in a row.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Switch did very well and the Xbox Series is doing better than the Xbox One did but man the PS5 sales here are unfortunate with it being down massively compared to last year and in total only selling half of what the PS4 sold so far launch aligned. At least it should for sure do much, much better this year and easily go above 300k and hopefully past 400k. They'll have permanently lost a notable amount of sales here due to stock being awful for so long but lost sales will stop happening soon thankfully.

Are the shortages the only thing that's holding the PS5 back or does the price increase of the console last year also had a hand at it?

It probably dampens sales at least a tad but I doubt the impact is significant.

Europe is more price sensitivity than EUA and Japan
