Forums - Sales Discussion - Famitsu Sales: Week 51, 2022 (12 Dec - 18 Dec)

The Switch is most likely gonna topple over the 4.8M sold for the year next week. Good results for an overall decent holiday period, although a tad bit under what people expected of few weeks ago.

Surprisingly enough, the PS5 has stocks. Is it just gonna last this week or until the next or will it actually go for a longer period this time ....

Also an interesting note for the Xbo Series which has one of it's lowest week of the year right during one of the most important moment of the year.

More surprising was the over 3k PS4s.

Not really surprising at this point. PS4 sold roughly 18.5k in the last 5 weeks in Japan.

Damn PS5 finally having a great week in Japan. If they could ship that much to Japan for the week I'm guessing they had a huge week globally. Xbox continuing to have no stock I guess.

Switch looking great, would love to see 200k next week. Definitely looks like it'll top 4.8m for the year even as sales slow a bit faster in the west.

Also wow Pokemon. Still over a quarter million in japan alone, retail only. It must be doing in excess of a million globally each week.

Love Switch Sports getting a huge holiday boost. Hopefully this game will have great legs into next year.

Good week for PlayStation. FF7 CCR did very well on PlayStation. Also a good week for GT7 and Horizon Forbidden West.

You're likely going to get a response from the usual suspect downplaying those latter games because there was a bundle at some point with them individually.

Most likely yes, the thing is though these bundles still need to appeal enough for the customer. It's not like these games are included for free, the bundle costs extra.

Horizon forbidden west just passing the 200k mark physically

You love to see it

If only Sony thought of the same more forcefully during that last generation, Knack and Knack 2 would've sold bangers and we'd be on the verge of completing the best trilogy of all gaming with the sure arrival of Knack 3 !

Right now on Amazon Japan the official PS5 GT7 bundle is at #9 in the best seller charts and the official PS5 HFW bundle is at #27.

If you bothered to do even the slightest bit of research you'd know that both of these games are being pushed in the charts by bundles. They are the only PS5 games with legs and the only ones that keep being sold through bundles. It was similar with the PS5 version of GoW Ragnarök having better legs than the PS4 version while being bundled. Not a single non bundled game had any legs whatsoever.

These games were not bundled "at some point", they are being sold through bundles right now, everywhere. Chris Dring from GamesIndustry.biz who shares UK data very often said that HFW for example gets pushed a lot by bundles even in the UK.

That means that without these bundles they wouldn't be anywhere close to where they are now.
