Played a few hours of Palworld today. Survival games aren't really my cup of tea, but Palworld has been made more accessible than most of the other survival games I have tried like Grounded and Ark, thanks to the casual mode option, the tutorial, and just an all around better UI (especially compared to Ark, I was utterly lost in that UI when I tried to play it). It has some issues for sure, most notably either the framerate or frame pacing is very poor (because the game looks very choppy to me and I'm not even a big framerate nut, I usually don't see framerate issues), and the map isn't great (my next tutorial quest is send me to a tower but there is no marker on the map telling me where that is). With some more updates I think it could be a truly great game.

Is it you or did someone who started to play video games two weeks ago take over your VGC account?

It's me. I assume you're referring to me playing on casual mode? I almost always play games on the lowest difficulty, with only a few exceptions, I play Halo on Legendary usually and I completed Dragon Age Inquisition on Nightmare (something that only 0.43% of players have done according to TA). I typically don't like to challenge myself when playing singleplayer games, I play them to chill and have fun slaughtering my enemies, I get my challenge fix from playing multiplayer games where I am usually in the upper few tiers in ranked. There was no way I was playing anything but casual in a survival game like Palworld, you drop everything when you die on the higher difficulties, and that just doesn't fly with me.

Just heard about Palsworld. Its on game pass so gonna check out what the hype is

Be aware that the Xbox version (and apparently also the Gamepass on Windows version) is crashing and buggy. Steam version has more patches. I hope the patches will arrive on Xbox soon, because... the game is fun in between crashes.

Partner is playing it while working from home. Has put in a good 10-15 hours and had no crashes. Seems dependent on luck.

Yakuza will end Palworld's record breaking peaks tomorrow, I am sorry Palfans, I have spoken!

Yakuza GOAT!

The last tutorial quest I assume you refer to is asking for the tower that is visible from the position you start the game and is illuminated at night. I think it is good enough a visible landmark that players naturally should check it out at some point, so I feel no marker is needed.

Ah, thanks for the tip. I've been so busy fighting at night that I never looked for landmarks. Will be sure to do that tomorrow.

Starting on Yakuza 5 soon as I continue my trek to get caught up on the series so that I can play Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth. Lord help me, this game is going to take up so many hours of my life, How Long to Beat has it at 65 hours main + side content and 156 hours for full completion (which I won't even attempt). How Long to Beat says it is bigger than Like a Dragon Ishin, which took me 72 hours to finish.

Xbots playing the best series Yakuza/Like a Dragon. Love to see it.

Also love seeing Yakuza advertised on Xbox.

That's the best news for the series for sure. The first season, except on a few occasions, was a huge disappointment for me, especially for the budget they had and considering how rich the source material is.
