1 game for the first quarter would be sad should be atleast a handfull by now(including remasters and third party).

@EspadaGrim, budgets aren't way to high for what it delivers, Starfield cost the same...but I guess I understand if you thought it was made cheaper based on graphics and performance.

I expect the bigger games to cost that much (I assume that Fable and Perfect Dark are closer to that 200 million figure idk about Hellblade 2)  and I don't judge budgets based solely on graphics, Alan Wake 2 cost less than 100 million to make with the same quality of some of the best Sony 1st party games.

Well I expect, MS flight sim/Hellblade II/Gears/Halo/Forza games/Fable/Doom/Wolfenstein/Blade and so on all cost + 100 million.

Anyone have any idea when Activision games start releasing on gamepass?

Hopefully in Q1 we get a Developer Direct, at least one exclusive released (I don't think they'll be an AAA one), Activision-Blizzard roundtable discussion with leaders after Bobby fucks off with changes detailed, Activision-Blizzard content launching into Game Pass and a permanent price cut to Xbox Series X/S. Could be quite a busy Q1 for them.

Honestly COD in Game Pass is worth running ads for.

Edit - Also, I imagine we'll hear something about ABK back in China soon, I expect it to be Tencent.

All of these could be awesome.

But I truly hope they don't announce going full 3rd party with port like Sea Of Thieves / Halo and ABK Games.

Not because I don't want PS users to not enjoy these, but because I think it will simply kill the hardware. Furthermore it will be very strange from them to do that just after finalizing ABK deal and don't even use it for a year, at least.

I think I'm the pessimist guy of this topic or just too naive to believe all the things I read from internet (especially Twitter)

They won't. Twitter is a cesspool.

Those Sony leaks are insane, Spider-Man 2 cost over 300 million to make and Miles Morales which is basically DLC with reused assets cost 100 million to make. Their budgets are way too high Imo, we already know that God of War and Horizon cost over 200 million thanks to the FTC leak.

I doubt that many of the XGS games reach that high outside of Halo and Gears.

I think Fable will hit over 100m and Perfect Dark.

Have to take into account employee location as well, some employee salaries are far cheaper than others based on their locations.

For example the salaries in California will be way higher than the salaries of France.

Also after looking at the Marvel revenue spilt between them and Sony, I can see why MS doesn't want to do licensed games, 9-18% of net sales digital, 19-26% physical & dlc, 35-50% console bundles (assuming this means the entire bundle cost not just the game).

Those licensing terms are insanely in favour of Disney, JFC.

No wonder Disney isn't doing development themselves when they get terms like these, all that royalty for basically doing nothing, Lol. What kind of terms does Disney have for Indiana Jones on Game Pass, I can't imagine it will be fair now, Lol...This makes me even more convinced that licensed IPs should remain a very small thing for Microsoft.

Also appears as though Sony has exclusive rights to X-Men and X-Men related characters so Microsoft won't be able to make exclusives based on any X-Men character (nor will Nintendo) but X-Men characters can appear in Marvel titles which are a collection of different characters (Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy) but I assume have to be multiplatform.

He's not an idiot or a console warrior.

I'd say about 3 months after acquisition closes, assuming ABK did zero work on bringing them to Game Pass before acquisition closed (which is possible with Bobby Kotick) then looking how a 2nd batch of Zenimax titles released about 3 months after the first (which was being prepped beforehand and a lot of them already on GP beforehand).

Will have to check license agreements for some titles, for others they'll have to change the publishing agreement (Sekiro) then probably adjust expectations for sales and work out costs, look through any marketing agreements (for CODs) and likely port them all to Windows Store so they can come to Game Pass PC as well. I'd give it to about end of Q1.

Sony's concerns about ABK.

I think this is key: "MSFT is building a mobile gaming store to compete with Apple and Google".

I always thought that the main reason for the acquisition are the mobile titles, not only the mobile leader with King, but also games like Hearthstone.

Disney's terms frankly suck, I'm trying to imagine what Indiana Jones would be, if it's 9-18% of net sales (digital) like X-Men and this was pre-Bethesda being acquired, then Bethesda also adds on the 30% cut from digital transactions on PS Store and Xbox Store then Bethesda is looking at around 39-48% of their digital revenue being gobbled up by others...Now they're owned by Microsoft so Microsoft takes 100% of the cut on Xbox stores but I imagine with the less consoles sold and Game Pass, the terms for Indiana Jones are even worse than the terms for X-Men.

What's Disney going to ask for I wonder...LOL.

Thankfully Blade is FAR less popular than X-Men and Spider-Man so the terms are probably more fair there.

Microsoft seeing those bundle terms going to be like: "Yeah, lets not bundle Indiana Jones"

Tbf it's what Microsoft told us multiple times but core gamers called em liars and said they just wanted COD to destroy Sony 😭😂

I posted it in here before, I think near 50% of ABKs revenue comes from mobile titles and it's an area where Microsoft is hugely lacking in (and the biggest area of growth).

In order of importance the ABK acquisition was probably Mobile Growth > PC Growth > Console Growth.

Yup, I'm in favor of working less with Disney. Todd must have bent over backwards beggin phil to let him do this Indiana Jones game.
