It's literally just Chris Pratt's voice still looks great!

Chris Pratt makes Mario sound like he did in Hotel Mario

My take:

Everything with Bowser looked amazing! I really liked that they made him a badass villain that could destroy a castle, and not just a campy dude in a clown car or something like that. Toad also looked awesome.

Mario and Luigi do not look quite right though. Something looks off in the face. It's like they are both too detailed yet too cartoony at the same time. I am getting an uncanny valley vibe from the way they look in the face.

I got the same feeling when I saw the face, too.

Also, is it just me, or does it felt weird for you guys too hearing Bowser actually talk and not just roar as usual?

Not if you have ever beaten Mario Sunshine.

Looks great! I’m all in. I love that we’ll be getting the stranger in a strange land vibes from this one with Mario first arriving to the Mushroom Kingdom. I wonder if we’ll see him when he’s on Earth as a plumber before. I don’t think it’s likely that the scene we see here is his first presence in the movie.

And I’m still hoping for a great game tie in. They’ve been talking with Illumination for 7 years, which is more than enough time to work on the movie and a game simultaneously.

2023 is looking like a great time to be a Nintendo fan. New Zelda, new Pikmin, new Mario movie and Super Nintendo World opening in the LA area. They sure are doing wonders for their brand image these last 5 years.

I do wonder if they will try to do a "Mario: The Movie" game, lol.

Not at all. Remember that Mario game that has fully voiced cut scenes?

Video games work better for animated series. Thats where they should go

Just a guy who doesn't want to be bored. Also

Must not have that game, because no.

Unless you're talking about Hotel Mario, where he talks to no end

The trailer didn’t seem like something I’d want to watch, but I’m not exactly the target audience. I’m not saying it’ll be bad, just that it probably isn’t for me.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Everything seemed cool, except the look of Mario felt a little bit off. Not like OG Sonic. It just feels like it's not quite there.
Jack Black sounds great as Bowser. I like how he actually tried.

And Mario did a great job voice acting Chris Pratt.
He nailed Chris Pratt's Brookly accent to a T.

The French voice actor is killing it though.

Think I'm watching the movie in French.
