Great sales for Switch.
Are most of the software increases due to Prime day?

Switch very nearly matches this week last year; not bad at all considering how strong 2021 was.

Koei Tecmo supporting the NSW with Nobunaga's Ambition since day 1, and yet NSW owners can't support the series more than the PS4 owners yet with the newest release.

People wonder why PS4/PS5 will continue to get (Japanese) games? This is why. I think Koei Tecmo is already regretting not making a PS5 version.

Can the XBSX beat the 360's peak year this year ? (345k) I say yes.

Only time will tell, but it's incredible how good Xbox Series is doing after the disaster that was the Xbox One in Japan.

Xbox Series is defying what was expected of it, slow and steady won't win the race but it sure as hell is a lot better than what the brand would have hoped for.

Right, because PS5 software has been lighting up the charts every week.  Rebirth quadrupled its first week sales on Switch over Taishi.  Meanwhile, the series has seen diminishing sales on Sony consoles for a while now.  Releasing Sphere of Influence on 3 different Sony platforms in 2016 saw almost 20,000 fewer sales than Creativity did just on PS3 by itself in 2013.

05./00. [PS3] Nobunaga's Ambition: Creativity # <SLG> (Koei Tecmo) {2013.12.12} (¥9.240) - 66.242 / NEW <80-100%>

So, are Nintendo fans letting Koei Tecmo down, or is Nobunaga's Ambition a series that has been on the decline for years now?  Anyone PS5 owners who would have wanted the game likely bought a PS4 copy, which is likely why Rebirth sold 7,000 more copies on PS4 than Taishi did in 2017.  A PS5 release wouldn't have magically resulted in an additional 10-20,000 sales for Koei Tecmo.  Whatever PS5 copies sold would likely have mostly come away from the PS4 copies.  I'm pretty sure Koei Tecmo did the math and figured the same thing.

Tecmo has released 3 games on the switch this year, all of them being similar in theme

3 hopes and touken ranbu sold pretty decently on the switch, so I don't think koei are that disappointed with the recent release, it didn't sell THAT much better on ps4 anyway

The playstation brand continues to get Japanese support because there is still a market for games on the system, and that won't change unless Sony do what Microsoft is doing and only release games digitally in japan

Koei Tecmo released Nobunaga's Ambition games on NSW since day 1 because they had faith in the system and its fans. To me it is just a little disappointing that the feeling isn't so reciprocal.

The PS5 version wouldn't have sold many physical copies but I could see it selling the same or better than as the NSW Sphere of Influence or NSW Taishi, which apparently Koei Tecmo is satisfied with.

You are right maybe those 7000 sales would have went to PS5 instead of PS4, but again it would maybe be worth it.

BTW: Creativity and Sphere of Influence are the same game, just different translations. The ones I linked were a re- release with power up kit just like the NSW version of Sphere of Influence.
