This is truly an epic tactical screw up, if the invasion was about NATO which we know it wasn't but hey!

Baltic Fleet is screwed, Kaliningrad's fleet would be lit up before they even leave the port and anything coming out of St. Petersburg will be lit up by Finland. Black Sea Fleet is at the mercy of Turkey keeping the strait closed. The Northern Fleet will be quickly cut off from the rest of Russia once NATO crosses into Russia via Finland. The only safe one is the Pacific Fleet which will just be attacked by US ships stationed around Japan and at the end of all of this NATO/Finland can have a leisurely stroll to St Petersburg.

Nah, what I mean is that Putin never invaded Ukraine because "NATO" and it's an excuse that his moron defenders use but they'll probably also ignore how massive of a tactical fuck up this is if it was about NATO. Only reason Russia invaded Ukraine was imperialism, they wanted to take what wasn't theirs but nevertheless Putin's invasion has caused a significant increase in NATO's influence and power.

Erdogan is a piece of shit, I agree, at least he stands on the right side in regards to Russia but there's also his human rights abuses, him being a dickhead to Sweden, him pitting both sides against each other when it suits him, etc. Turkey can never join EU as long as Erdogan is in power Imo. We can hope Erdogan's opposition wins because they're in favour of both improving relations with EU and supporting Sweden's entry into NATO.

Now if only Erdogan was booted from office, and Sweden joins NATO, preferably with the strength and unwavering force of their Viking ancestors.

Is there an election any time soon? Would be great to finally see somebody else in charge of Turkey, especially if they're pro-EU.
