Speak a lot about America but Eastern Europe is really pulling their weight too in relation to what they actually have.

I really wish Canada would give much more. From a government that unlocked 300+B$ to stabilize the economy in the first year of the pandemic donation to Ukraine are shamefully low.

Doesn't even include the costs for governments (especially in Eastern and Central Europe) for taking care of Ukrainain refugees.

To be fair, America doesn't only do it because they like Ukraine so much. They also do it because that's a great way to show Russia how even a tiny bit of their capabilities are enough to hold Russia back. And Russia just learns what USA's real capabilities would mean.

And like Barozi said, Europe has obviously also other costs USA doesn't have as much as European countries. Refugees, Energy prices and so on...

I'm not complaining about USA, though. They are the biggest reason why Ukraine is as capable as they are. But sometimes I get the feeling that it's really overlooked what Europe as a whole has to manage right now.

Yeah, I wasn't trying to compare but more pointing out that we talk about how much USA sends but Eastern/Central Europe are really pulling their weight compared to their GDP which is worthy of high praise too, they do it cause they know Russia better than most. Although I will say, France's contributions are pretty weak for one of the most powerful militaries in all of Europe, if not the most powerful.

I edited my post a little bit while you quoted me^^

Talking about military help I'm definitely on your side. France, Germany, Spain, Italy...there are some bigger countries which could do so much more but it's always excuses why this or that weapon isn't ready or whatever...I mean, here in Germany they told me already 5 months ago how some weapons would need weeks or months of training. Now we are half a year into the war. Ukrainians would be probably better with these weapons already as German soldiers who never had to fight with them lol.

BTW it's crazy how often I see cars with Ukrainians plates on them now and I'm in the west of Germany. In some Eastern European countries it probably feels almost like you are in Ukraine.

I am more surprised by Norway> Finland. Norway is considered a rich country too, so that is some heavy support.

Seems the Russian soldier is given some good quality stuff. How nice, shows the Kremlin cares.

Excellent description of military events in July, all done with great detail in a easy to digest presentation, August version coming next

More on this guy.

Well, the penalty for treason is often extremely high. I know the word ‘treason’ can be thrown around very cheaply in modern politics, but even going off one of the most absolute definitions (the US legal one - aiding and abetting the enemy) this is a pretty cut and dry case.

Last I check Davydiv Brid was still in Russian hands. Has this changed today or is it just the other location under attack for now?

was bored so I geolocated it myself with satellite images lol

Arrow shows in in which direction the camera guy looks so it's either some echo from buildings or they really fight already in the middle of Kherson and not only some outskirts...

if Russians have to fight against partisans in one direction and the military in the other direction it could be promising to retake Kherson the next weeks or whenever...
