Well, the penalty for treason is often extremely high. I know the word ‘treason’ can be thrown around very cheaply in modern politics, but even going off one of the most absolute definitions (the US legal one - aiding and abetting the enemy) this is a pretty cut and dry case.

Last I check Davydiv Brid was still in Russian hands. Has this changed today or is it just the other location under attack for now?
