To be fair, America doesn't only do it because they like Ukraine so much. They also do it because that's a great way to show Russia how even a tiny bit of their capabilities are enough to hold Russia back. And Russia just learns what USA's real capabilities would mean.
And like Barozi said, Europe has obviously also other costs USA doesn't have as much as European countries. Refugees, Energy prices and so on...
I'm not complaining about USA, though. They are the biggest reason why Ukraine is as capable as they are. But sometimes I get the feeling that it's really overlooked what Europe as a whole has to manage right now.
