I’m not following your logic but I also don’t think I’m your target, as I’ve been telling people that the 160mil figure is very well within the realm of reason and should really not be disputed.

I don't think this is a major concern, most people and even Nintendo themselves don't seem to care about this stuff. 

If Nintendo cared enough they could be more active trying to get the Switch to the 160m+ mark. Price cuts, permanent bundles, maybe a new low cost model... But they don't seem to care. Their focus is quickly shifting to the Switch 2.

I do agree Sony should just give us a final number, I'd love that, but I suspect even if they did people would just say they're lying lol. I mean, the 160m figure is a updated number, and many people still think it's a lie. This is going to be an endless debate. 

Best to go with the official number but if you really wanna go with the low end of the estimated range from several years ago then alright. For that number it could actually be extremely close at this point considering how fast the Switch is declining. 158m is looking increasingly likely where it'll stop where as a few months ago I was thinking 159m was more likely.

Switch lite is a Switch System and it will be counted as such. PS portal is not a PS5 no matter how hard he try to convice anyone this is a comparable situation. If we used his flawed logic, we should be counting PS5 as PS4 numbers or Switch 2 as Switch 1 numbers

I think its valid to call out Sony shitty behavior for not giving a precise number, but it is an official parameter and you cant just deny it bc you feel like doing it

Man people are trying to cope so hard saying Switch will be the winner once it reaches 156M lol. The discussion of PS2 selling 155M total should be long dead at this point. Not only estimations since like 2013 put the range of PS2 sales from 158.7-161.9 based on Sony's reports, but we now had Sony themselves confirm last year it sold over 160 Million. The only feasible range now is 160.01M-160.99M.

I'll consider the Switch to win if it sells more than 160.01M, while range of PS2 sales could be potentially higher, as high as 160.9. A confirmed number of Switch sales should always be taken with more weight than just a guessing game of PS2's range of numbers.

But no, selling more than 155M does not mean it beats the PS2. People need to stop making up imaginary wins just so they could cope with the idea that Switch may not make it to 160M. It really doesn't matter than much if it falls short, doesn't make it any less amazing or great of a console and people will still view the Switch very highly.

I agree that Switch at least has to reach Sony’s official sales range
for it to be declared the winner on hardware sales numbers.

Switch will be the winner and i will declare it as such once it passes 156, you can do whatever you want to try to cope with that but your cope isnt going to change the facts sorry to say
