While not the worst Super 8 has a very disappointing ending that kinda kills the whole mood of the movie.

What didn't you like about Super 8's ending?

Every horror movie that ends with the predictable "lol jk the monster/villain is still alive and the main character(s) die" cliche.

Edge of Tomorrow (sometimes called Live, Die, Repeat), but everything before it was so good that the movie is still worth watching multiple times.

Avengers Endgame

I did not sign up for a 10 year ride to see the most interesting character die.

I thought it was spot on. RDJ had been doing that role for 10 years, you knew it was not going to last and how would they explain in future films that Iron Man just wouldn't be around anymore? Recast him? No way.

He went out a hero and did it in a way that was very much him. Plus, the emotional impact was very real after all this time and all these movies. Can't imagine a better solution.

This has the 'Hive Mind' they all fall trope sadly.

https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HiveQueen

It's even listed under examples.

"If our heroes manage to kill or incapacitate the Hive Queen, they usually take out the entire hive mind in the process, or at least make the individual members incapable of fighting."

After the first hour and bit of the film being a cool/weird Ground Hog Day thing, it suddenly turned into this at the end.

Hmm, pie.

It's been a while but I didn't appreciate the last minute characterization that the monster is just a very violent version of E.T. who just wants to get home.

Strange Wilderness

Had recently watched Grandma's Boy, which ended up being a fantastic comedy that I wasn't expecting. Decided to give this a shot since it seemed similar and had some of the same cast. There were like 2 funny jokes and the rest of the movie sucked. But the end, oh boy. The main characters are talking, and then they just start laughing. And the movie ends. It ends on a literal outtake. They couldn't come up with anything better than an outtake to end the movie. Terrible.

I'll just say this: at least those movies HAD a monster/villain, unlike

Spoiler!
Catacombs, where they reveal that the monster they've been teasing all throughout the film isn't real and it was all just a prank.

I lul'ed when the "twist" happened. An already shit movie that literally had nothing to show or say.

Godzilla vs Mothra 1964 also has a miserable ending. Giant bomb-proof nuclear dinosaur beaten by... a couple of oversized grubs. They could've at least made it an entertaining fight, but instead its a slow, drawn out, and boring contest where said grubs just hide and take in turn spraying him with silk until he's wrapped up and falls over into the sea. Super lame.
