What does SLG>, ACT>, HOB> etc mean?

I think it's the genre:

ACT = Action

ADV = Adventure

RCE = Racing

FTG = Fighting

Not sure about SLG or HOB.  Although if I had to guess by the games represented by SLG (Miitopia, Rune Factory), I would think Life Simulation Game?

SLG = Simulation Game

HOB = Hobby, as in not an actual game and/or Edutainment

Wonder what caused thet dip in Switch sales last week now that's it's bounced right back to baseline?
Stock seems the first thought, but the Lite to hybrid split last week didn't seem to indicate a shortage.

Might just as well be because by now all the surplus of Lite models has been sold, too. If that's the case, the ratio should stay roughly the same now even when sales dip, as they can't simply choose the Lite instead anymore.

Where does Minecraft rank in the best selling games of all time in Japan? 2 million units on the Switch is impressive after all these years. I think it is close to 3 million when we include digital.

SPT = Sports

RPG = Role Paying Game

PZL = puzzle

TBL = Tabletop / Board games.

ETC =etcetera or everything else

edit: added PZL

I think that's all the genre tags

Edit 2: added TBL

Why do you think it didn't indicate a shortage? The Lite had sold 22k, the hybrid 49k; this week the Lite sold 23k and the hybrid 74k.

To me that looks like the hybrid had a shortage the previous week.

Either way as long as demand isn't close to settled there won't be a baseline anyway. It's completely dependant on what's shipped, not on demand.

2020 H1 PS4 HW: 435.812 (14%)

2021 TOTAL NSW HW: 2.775.112 (82%)
2021 TOTAL PS4/PS5 HW: 621.013 (18%)

Heading for the third best result for a H1 only behind the DS during it's peak in 2006/2007 when for H1 it managed 3.54 million/3.97 million, DS in 2006/2007 managed 8.35 million/7.16 million, so in terms of hardware Switch should easily end up above 6.25 million - question is how high can it end up. I think with the Pro launch it's possible to get very close to 7 million

Three weeks left of the Quarter, in terms of Software we won't be able to match the Top 30 of last year due to New Horizon being unrivaled.

Seems that there will be only three exclusive PS4 games that are able to make the Top 30, although there is some doubts about Scarlet Nexus at this point - pre-orders on COMG/Amazon.co.jp need to pick up. Overall PlayStation ecosystem will be down around 2 million YoY just across the Top 30.

For Nintendo it's interesting how Game Builder Garage(currently #1 on Amazon.co.jp) & Mario Golf perform as they are the biggest games on the Switch until the end of the Quarter.

In terms of the multiplats doesn't seem that Samurai Warriors 5 will be hoping the opening combined across the Switch/PS4 to get close to the debut of the prior entry on the PS3/PSV, but WoM would be key. Overall early signs are that it would open below 150K combined.

[PS3] Samurai Warriors 4 - 149.068 / 255.938

Dragon Quest is definitely dominating those charts.  I'm sure that the sale has something to do with it.  However, I also think SquareEnix wants people to be thinking about Dragon Quest right now.

I also think there is going to be some extra Dragon Quest info at E3.  It will either be during the SquareEnix conference or the Nintendo conference.  That Dragon Quest broadcast a couple of weeks ago didn't include any info about release dates or platforms (except for, I guess, the one mobile game).  At least a couple of those games have got to be coming soon, which means they already know the dates and platforms.  I think they are going to give some extra details like those during E3 sometime.

Is not in the top 10 nor top 20, I dont think is in top 50 but it may be in top 100.
