So the Switch is back to baseline. Seems like Miitopia is going to have sneaky legs. I think the popularity outside of Japan shouldn't be underestimated. They have been promoting it in South Korea a lot with TWICE.

Famitsu sez last weeks' PS5 sales are 39000
Why does the front page show 16000 for Asia?

The week on the front page is the week ending May 22nd so it corresponds to Famitsu Week 21.

Signature goes here!

What does SLG>, ACT>, HOB> etc mean?

Miitopia did not launch at number 1 and yet it's been at the number 1 spot for two weeks in a row now.  Meanwhile Rune Factory 5 is already down at ninth place.  Basically RF5 is extremely frontloaded while Miitopia is going to have some decent legs to it.

Speaking of legs, three out of the top 5 are simply games that show they've got some great legs on them.  They can sell more per week than Mario Kart, Smash Bros or any other evergreen.

03./04. [NSW] Ring Fit Adventure # <HOB> (Nintendo) {2019.10.18} (¥7.980) – 13.567 / 2.614.401 (-3%)
04./06. [NSW] Minecraft # <ADV> (Microsoft Game Studios) {2018.06.21} (¥3.600) – 11.688 / 1.983.567 (+0%)

Switch base model: Lite model is about 3:1 this week.  I guess that is what normal looks like when stock is plentiful.

I think it's the genre:

ACT = Action

ADV = Adventure

RCE = Racing

FTG = Fighting

Not sure about SLG or HOB.  Although if I had to guess by the games represented by SLG (Miitopia, Rune Factory), I would think Life Simulation Game?

Mandalore76 is correct that those are genre references.  I also don't know what SLG or HOB stand for, but HOB is clearly for fitness-style games as it is the genre used for Ring Fit and Fitness Boxing.  If SLG meant life sim, then I don't know why it wouldn't include Animal Crossing, which is in the ETC genre with Clubhouse Games and Super Mario Party.

I'll try to dig up an official list of the genre designations.  So far a quick Google search hasn't come up with anything.

The usual

Just a guy who doesn't want to be bored. Also

Wonder what caused thet dip in Switch sales last week now that's it's bounced right back to baseline?
Stock seems the first thought, but the Lite to hybrid split last week didn't seem to indicate a shortage.
