The Wii U did have decent launch sales in Japan tbf, even compared to other popular hardware.

That said,  this is a very tough start for the PS5 in Japan however you look at it. It still hasn't caught up Wii U's two week tally, and is already looking at a week "Japanese" software lineup for 2021. Gonna be a tough one

Great week for Switch and awesome hold for 3D World. PS5 continues to sell whatever stock is shipped to Japan. If the stock continues to hover around 20-25k, the PS5 will hit the point where PS4 started to slip (572k units, week 12) at around week 22. From that point on, we'll have a better idea of how better or worse PS5 is doing compared to PS4.
