Speaking of which, David Lynch died after fleeing the wildfires.

One of the greatest directors out there, not making it easy for viewers, but it is always worth the investment in focus to follow the script. RIP. :(

I always enjoyed his stuff. And beyond that, appreciated how he was one of the few directors in the past 40 years who still made films with a focus on the interpretive/artistic.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Speaking of David Lynch. The film "The Substance" will be interesting to fans of his. It's my favourite film of 2024.
There are also elements of Cronenberg, Kubrick, Verhoeven, Jonathan Glazer, and John Carpenter.

I'll say this much - the genre is art horror with dark satirical comedic themes - and the less you know, the better.

If either art horror or dark satirical comedy isn't your thing, stay clear. If it is your thing, I think you'll very much enjoy this one. Also, if you enjoyed films like Mulholland Drive or Under the Skin then you'll like this one. Also, if you like this one, you'll probably enjoy Under the Skin (Jonathan Glazer) and Mulholland Drive (David Lynch).

And for my fellow fans of cannabis here, this is a good one for that.

Saw the first 10 episodes of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Overall a big step up from Marvel's Spider-Man and definitely a big step up from Ultimate Spider-Man. The animation's pretty good but I'd rather it was either full CGI or 2D animation. Since it's the first Spider-Man cartoon to be rated TV-14 they're not afraid to use occasional profanity, realistic guns or show blood, which means there's a good enough chance the show will feature Carnage without having to tone him down like they have in previous shows. The show's versions of Venom and Scorpion are already nightmarish, so the bar's been set high for however terrifying they make Carnage.

Spoiler!
Not sure how to feel about Peter Parker's father being in prison though, or the fact that in this show Uncle Ben dies before Peter's fateful spider bite.

Finished Attack on Titan last week.

Been watching Breaking Bad with wifey.

Lot of good shows on queue, haven't really locked into anything yet. Been trying to watch more Batman The Animated Series.

That looks interesting. I have enjoyed the other movies you mentioned.

Unfortunately no release here (yet?). Only import sellers for $50, rather steep for one blu-ray. I'll keep an eye on it.

Amazon Surprisingly Removing One Of The Best Sci-Fi Shows Of All Time From Prime Video

The Expanse.

Watch it before dickhead Amazon removes it, I think it is one of the best sci-fi shows I have ever watched, it is amazing and this makes me annoyed, it's a show that when it was cancelled, Jeff Bezos personally stepped in because he was a fan of the show and kept it alive for a few more seasons but even that isn't enough for these shitty corporations and their desire to save a few bucks.

Can't be as bad as David Asslav and how he treats animated properties at Warner Bros. *drops anvil wrapped in barbed wire on said bitch of a CEO*

@Mummelmann @SvennoJ If you have access to FandangoAtHome all 6 seasons are US 59.99.  At Christmas I got all 6 seasons for I think $25 (I bought a bunch of series on sale so I cannot remember how much I paid for each).  Big downside being it is only 1080p. Compared to Bluray though you can get the whole series in lesser quality for the price of one season on Bluray.

^ I binged the first three seasons for the first time a few weeks ago before taking a break. Good stuff, I've just got a lot on rotation right now.

Not available in Canada.

I have the first 4 seasons on blu-ray, last 2 Amazon simply won't release in Canada. I can import them from the states for CAD 50, but fuck Trump land. I'm boycotting all imports for the next 4 years. Amazon is complicit as well, double boycott lol.

I'm on the last season of Lost atm, next on my list is Yellowstone.

Watching 6 Underground. Can't hear Ryan Reynolds without thinking of a certain red suited lunatic.

Saw The Monkey yesterday. It was pretty fun. Not scary at all, but it was entertaining.
