Always Sunny
Game of Thrones

On season 8 of both shows. I’ve been through Always Sunny numerous times now, but Game of Thrones this is run number 2. The number of Always Sunny runs is up in the air because about half the time I watch it I’m just picking out a random episode.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: A refreshingly more down to earth story in the GoT universe. Spending plenty of time at the tourney was a nice change of pace and the trial was a great bit of action. Dunk makes for a likeable protagonist and I look forward to seeing what shenanigans he and Egg get up to next - hopefully for a bit longer next time.

Went to return to silent hill and whas so bored i almost fell asleep.

SWAT. Someone's killing LAPD personnel in this episode, but I don't know who.

Watched Sergio Leone's Westerns all the way through for the first time this week. A Fistful of Dollars was a bit rough, but I can see why For A Few Dollars More, The Good the Bad and the Ugly, and Once Upon a Time in the West are classics. His style is a bit slow for my taste (you could shorten each film significantly without losing much), but boy was he a master at building and releasing tension. I'm honestly not sure which of the three to call my favorite; they each have their merits. It's clear why his style defined an entire subgenre. Now I'll have to finish a few more within it.

Spoiler!
My favorite Western so far is still Tombstone, though.

Watching a new episode of 9-1-1 Nashville. Not gonna spoil anything, but a particular scene made me want to vomit. Hopefully the rest of the episode isn't that disgusting.

Just saw Project Hail Mary in 4DX. I’m here to tell you: go see it now. The movie was fucking incredible. So many heartstring-pulling moments with great character growth (a chunk of that in flashbacks, but whatevs, which this movie also does a good job of balancing) and Ryan Gosling was great, as usual. Never thought I’d find myself caring for a rock alien in a glass cube as much as I did, that’s how great this movie was. There was also surprisingly-decent humor between the two of them. My theater was laughing more than a few times at their exchanges.

Oh, and speaking of Ryan Gosling, they had callbacks to the other adaptation of a space novel by the same author (The Martian) and the big (not so smash hit) blockbuster he did before this, The Fall Guy. I don’t want to spoil it, but I’ll bet you already know which scene from THAT movie I’m talking about.

I know it’s early in the year, but this is at least a strong contender for best film of the year and definitely one of my better theatrical experiences in quite some time. Dune 3 is the only film with any real shot to top it.

Anyone who hasn't seen Hoppers needs to see it!!

Fist my bump!

Just finished Fargo, the TV-show. Seasons 1-3 were all amazing, season 4 took a bit of a tumble with a huge tonal shift for some reason. Season 5 was atrocious, the first two episodes were good but it became successively worse, I barely managed to finish it.

Currently re-watching Gomorrah, it's been a few years since I saw it last, and it's finally available to stream again (it left HBO a while back, but it's on SkyShowtime now instead).
