Ps5 will outsell every Nintendo System ever released with the exception of DS, i know hard to digest here but get ready for some bad bad years for Nintendo Fanboys once Sony gets the Stock Right.

& yes it will Crush Wii U numbers by the end of 2021 which were pretty damn terrible.

Xbox? Well depends, Series will probably sell a tiny bit better than One but it´s not even a lock yet, Brand has been damaged beyond repair and they don´t have Franchises like Nintendo or Appeal to do a major comeback.

Nintendo has the IPs and the System to do gargantuous numbers, MS let Halo slip with 343 & Gears doesn´t do much in this day and age.

Sounds like you are misled by the combination of heightened demand during the holiday season and low supply. The PS5 has been selling ~400k per week leading up to Christmas, so it's not a surprise that demand outstripped supply. But it shouldn't take long for Sony to sort that out, going into a slow period for new game releases in combination with a high price for the console.

Aside from that, the PS5 will continually be compared to Switch and people already know that Switch's fourth year was notably higher than that of any PS console in history. If you want to be optimistic, you could count on 2025 being the time when people will first believe that the PS5 can outsell Switch, but that obviously requires a combination of beastly PS5 sales through 2024 and a significant decline of Switch sales starting soon, both being unlikely.

On topic: The PS5 will, but the XSX|S will fall short by a small amount.

Switch should be replaced sooner rather than later, let´s say 2023/2024. Ps5 will be peaking in 2023/2024 with 25M+ yearly sales.

Ps5 will definitely crush Switch/Ps4, Next Gen Nintendo Console is a whole nother history & i predict if done right it´ll be the best selling Console of all time by Nintendo because Switch Momentum + even more 3rd party support thanks to new Tech like DLSS.

The only thing i´m sure is Ps5 crushing Switch and Ps4 easily, Sony needs to sort supply but this Console will be a hot item for a long long loooong time. i totally expect Ps5 and Switch to CRUSH 2021 btw.

My precition:

Ps5 - 140M+ <150M
Switch - 130M+ <140M

Ps4 - 120M+ <130M if Sony drops to 199e and doesn´t ignore the system
Nintendo Next System - 150M+ <170M

Do we have the data of how many console Xbox One sold in its first week compared to Series?

Hi @Elputoxd Here are the first few weeks for both consoles, As of week 5, the XONE has a lead of about 600,000 units sold. Remember that these numbers can and probably will be adjusted so it is best to wait a few more weeks to really be able to say anything.

I also threw in the Xbox 360 just to show that the XS is selling quite ahead of that console. This is also a good way to see that initial console sales don't really predict the total sales a console will have (The 360 sold over 85M while the XONE is a bit bellow 50M)

Piece of cake for PS5, possible yet doubtful for Series X/S

Thank you, I guess they are supply constrained? At least in Spain I can't find a new Xbox (neither model), the stock is pathetically low. The Series X is nowhere to be found and sometimes you can find a Series S in apps like Wallapop but they get bought very quickly, too.

I guess Microsoft had a worldwide launch (the first time for them) by launching in 37 countries (vs 13 in 2013) at the expense of having lower stock.

I think Xbox will make up the gap in the fall. They got the price point with Series S. Depends how much they gonna market Halo Infinite, and if the Starfield and Forza Horizon 5 rumors are true

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I visited two major electronics retailers today (Mediamarkt and Elgiganten) and we looked at the stock situation on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. PS5 and Xbox Series X sold out everywhere, the won't even take orders right now, online or in the store. Series S readily available and stacked on shelves, these two retailers also have Series S online to the brim. Looked at the three biggest online retailers, all three sold out on PS5 and Series X, only one was momentarily out of Series S but expecting more within week one of 2021.

So the Series X is being snagged right away but the Series S is everywhere, which means that either I was completely right about the thing and its general lack of appeal compared to the considerably meatier Series X, or they had some insane stock (which seems unlikely considering how hard a time everyone has had producing and distributing electronics and gaming related components this year). As long as Series X is being torn off shelves and delivered at a slow pace and they insist that the Series S will carry the brunt of their total sales, the Xbox won't stand a chance of beating the Wii U LT numbers within 2021.

Game pass is a great service, but it contributes little to hardware sales.
People will continue to misunderstand about game passe forever.
