Those five were all guessed, let's see how these fare.

#30: From a subway on -6 to a cathedral on 100.

#29: Should have checked the forecast before going outside, it's rainy.

#28: This game made me not get a PS2.

#27: Somehow, the creators of this game actually managed to make walking upside down and around feel natural and intuitive.

#26: A multiplayer level, probably the most famous one in all of this now decently long lasting and certainly well selling franchise, is based on a real-life town which is also featured in an unrelated tv miniseries (which does have the same subject) looking eerily similar to how it looks in this game.

#29: Risk of Rain

#28: Shenmue

#27: Deadly Creatures? Walking around as a spider often irritated me because I lost sense of up and down. On the other hand this game isn't exactly considered good by many.

28. Knights of the Old Republic?

28) Halo?

26) CoD 4: Modern Warfare?

More hints:

29. a. This first entry in the series is based on a classic piece of literature.
b. There is a character in this game that is over three hundred years old and only ever had one true friend.
c.  "The Water Margin".
d. The original concept of this game was that you would wander the marshes of China and gather together legendary heroes, but before the game was released they added more traditionally fantasy things like elves and dwarves.
e. Only your character can assemble the 108 Stars of Destiny.

26. a) This game finds a variety of different ways to combine the most popular game in the world with another game created by Sega.
b) Part of the gameplay of this game originally comes from Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine.

25. This MMO from a well known franchise managed to pass Everquest in total number of subscribers.  Of course, about a year after the game's North American launch World of Warcraft was released and completely dwarfed it in popularity.

Shit, how did I miss this one. This is Suikoden, the first on I take? Ted would be over 300 years old if I remember well.

#29: Oh, you literally gave away the name of the book in c, which I didn't realize as the german name is more like the outlaws of liang chan. With d I realized you meant that book. So, a lot of games actually are based on that book, but I think most well-known is Suikoden, so I assume it is that.

#26: Puyo Puyo tetris

#25: Guild Wars?

Wow. Lots of guesses. I'll give a general response, I guess that's most fair. I'll also mention @Jpcc86 , since he's also taken a guess before. Sadly, none of the answers are correct. I guess this round my hints have been quite ambiguous. So here goes;

30 is an old game, and the hint is straightforward, if you guess what kind of tier -6 and 100 are.

29 is incorrect, and not close. This is actually also quite a literal hint; you go outside, and it rains (though the character can't really watch the forecast obviously so that part's a joke).

28 are all very good guesses, and they do fit the hint. Shenmue in particular even is one of the games why we indeed didn't get a PS2 in the family. The assumption that this is a Dreamcast game is correct. Personally though, every now and then I mention there's one game when saying it's the reason I didn't need a PS2.

27 is a very well-known and loved game. You needn't think too complicated.

26 is incorrect, but very close. This is a Call of Duty game. CoD 4 actually even has the map I'm talking about as well, in a way, because while in that game the basic layout of the map is exactly the same as the original, it's theme (the setting) is completely different.

30) The final boss fight in this game is LONG and if you're unlucky (like yours truly) it can heal itself to full health.

Hint 2: This game got a rhythm game spinoff over a decade after it's first release.

29) Already guessed

28) The MC of this game is many people's favorite in the franchise, but no one would deny that he starts out as a jerk.

Hint 2: There are several games from this franchise on my list already.

27) A couple of years back I would have expected a sequel to this game to have been announced by now, but it seems another sequel from the same developer is happening first.

26) "Where is _________ 2?" is something many fans were asking this year (_________ being the name of this game).

28) Guess I might as well take a stab at it now that I know it's a Dreamcast game: Skies of Arcadia?

27) Super Mario Galaxy?

26) Modern Warfare 2 then?

#29: Hmm, maybe the Blade Runner adventure from 1997?

#28: So many great Dreamcast exclusives. I put my money on Jet Set Radio.
