Yes Spider-Man on PS4 is a masterpiece. And it was ok because Sony paid for the whole development of the game. They were approached by Marvel, offered the deal and asked to choose a dev.

And most likely Sony told Marvel to not allow this game on other platforms.

If you don't own it, than it shouldn't be exclusive, but hey that's just my opinion.

If you think Spiderman is a masterpiece than good for you.

Sony was going to pay for the whole licensing, development, marketing, etc. The game was threated as first party (and probably already had negotiations to purchase Insomniac at the time). So why would it be multiplatform? If Marvel wanted it to be multiplat they would have looked to a publisher that isn't a platform holder. Well they done it with Avengers... now can we try and guess why they looked for Sony?

Isn't the Avengers game supposed to be kind of crappy though?

So...serves them right.

Suppposed? Everything we know from it, and reviews were all pretty bad.

I guess the same situation with Spider-man was with FF7 Remake as well.. Sony must not have a say with all these deals being done on their platforms.

Back on topic, I could care very little for Squares Enix decreased financial result, as they deserved the flack and they deserved the decrease in profits. They did this to themselves. Rushed a movie based game, typical and not surprising, added unwarranted exclusive DLC to only one version of the game, shafting the other versions in return, took a deal to ignore majority of the gaming industry with FF7 Remake, stopping the game releasing on Switch, Xbox, and Timed for PC.

Again when companies do stupid chit, they deserve karma and that's what happened to SE.

This have 0 to do with the two topics your brought, but thank you.

I can't believe we have users in this thread still crying about Spiderman DLC lol.

No mate, i could care less about Spiderman. Just bringing up anti consumer moves. Serves Square right. Game is a disaster and well deserved to be.

Or thinking that FFVIIR lost money while believing these games would earn a lot by being on GP.

Unable to read through the lines. I bring Squares decisions up because the company is lost a fair bit of money and when they shill out to companies, its good they get a hard lesson knowing that they would have made alot more money if they went the other way or didnt try to slap other users in the face.

Also this isnt about Xbox, FF7 is a timed exclusives meaning they also shafted thier PC audience, small little gaming Apps like Steam with 100s of million users cannot buy FF7. More customers = more money. When they start crying why they arent profiting as good as they should, they need look in the mirror and go "thats why"

Weren't you cheering when Microsoft bought Bethesda? I guess locking out 100+ Million Playstation users is no big deal.

Locking Bethesda to MS is worse than locking a DLC on a single game to PS. Get on with times.

Nah, permanently locking out 100+ Million PS owners is fine, but Spiderman DLC is the most anti - consumer move ever! Sony needs to get humbled!

typo... I meant "isn't"

After all MS is doing us all a favor since if we want to play Bethesda game we will have to buy Xbox consoles and will be free from Sony.

Yep, even though FFVIIR had the highest ever FF opening seems like it is losing money because it isn't going to X1, but somehow bethesda games will profit more by not going to PS.

I'm curious if this will put them in a weak enough financial situation that they get scooped up by a larger company. Buying when stocks are low is a popular move, especially with a company that simply recently screwed up and you suspect will bounce back in a big way. Perhaps Microsoft? Not that I want that. I'd rather Microsoft buy studios that own games I actually want to play.
