The constant tug of war of how much will be compatible. I think Sony started by saying virtually all would be, then at least 100 key games, then about 99%, and now this. But honestly I wonder what Sony's side of the story is.
Lifetime Sales Predictions
Switch: 151 million (was 73, then 96, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million)
PS5: 115 million (was 105 million) Xbox Series S/X: 57 million (was 60 million, then 67 million)
PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)
3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

Damn that Phil Spencer, always lying through his teeth about stuff!
Wait....I got them mixed up, don't I....
oh well, still, damn him
So there are games among the thousands released on PS4 that they haven’t been able to fully test to see their behaviour...
True test is when I put a Senko No Ronde 2 disk in PS5 and see what happens.

Today, Ubisoft released this statement about backwards compatibility on Xbox Series and PS5:
As you can see, none of those games from Ubisoft's statement were on Sony's original list. The PS Store listings for those Ubisoft games suggest that the games are backwards compatible, but "have unexpected errors or behaviors on PS5". Somebody on Era ran a search on PS Store for all game listings that have the "may have unexpected errors or behaviors" tag, and found that the following roughly 100 games have this warning: Spoiler!

Could you be more transparent? 😂
You say those games "have unexpected errors or behaviors on PS5" but the warning says they "may have unexpected errors or behaviours".
Are you trying to spread FUD?
Who really cares? Playing them on PS5 is a nice to have but really you buy a new console to play new games with new features.
If you want to play your ps4 games, keep your ps4 console.
Am I the only one not overly bothered about the PS5 being backwards compatible... I mean i buy a new console to play games made for that console and not ones before! I get the appeal but it is most certainly not a deal breaker like some make it out to be!
Sounds like Sony hasn't exactly been clear about the situation, to put it kindly.

Uh, my PS4 backlog is huge, and once PS5 hits a point where it's worth getting for me, I'd like to be able to get it before clearing my whole PS4 backlog - because there's only so much room for different consoles in my living room, and reserving the two spots for PS4 and PS5 is a huge waste. It's simply terribly inconvenient to have to have several consoles when backwards compatibility is an option. So yeah, I care, and I care about it a lot. I still have some PS1 and PS2 backlog as well, and clearing it is getting harder and harder.
