How self absorb can you be to make a thread like this on the dawn of next-gen console release?

Weird thread is weird.... nintendo has been hogging spotlight for awhile now.
Nintendo fans should be able to live without all the attention for a few months time no?
(sony and microsoft are launching new consoles soon, incase people havn't noticed)
Besides whats there to talk about, news wise for the Switch currently?

Yep. Thats the short of it.

basically my take too.

That's a pretty big assumption on your part that somehow the demographic suddenly changed to have a majority of owners in the 18 under group because of Pokémon S/S. I've seen no data indicating this shift happened. |
So among the three, you therefore believe that XBox and PS have the highest appeal among children and these children or minors love to brag endlessly that their console of choice is more superior, talking about specs, cpu, gpu, ram, graphics, ray tracing to let the netizens see who could "pee the highest" or farthest. And that's the reason why Switch lacks engagements in SocMed?

And gamers are not? We were talking about a market that sells over 200 million dedicated gaming hardware every 6 years, surely it's enough to label gamers as ""general audience""
About my point, I'm completely aware kiddos and people over their 50 DGAF about sales and stuff, but neither does people from their 20-30. Most of gamers have no idea what are the best selling consoles, the best selling games and can't explain in details what are the specs running behind the hardware they are playing
People who fight in fanwars on social media and follow sales are a very specific and niche part of gaming industry even for ""mature"" platforms like Xbox and Playstation

Those studies were done in 2017, 2 years before Pokemon S/S was released when millions of kiddos bought a Switch to play it. And kids rarely read articles related to consoles. They just want Pokemon and Mario, and now Animal Crossing. |
Did you click the links I put?

Wow, you're really good at making assumptions. I didn't comment on any of that, I just stated that your assumption that somehow the Switch demographic shifted completely because of Pokémon was unfounded and very unlikely.

Again,I was specific, citing the the below 18 age demographics as I intended to exclude the adults who love to argue about sales and specs of a console on the internet. But you cited the moviegoers as an example. You have to be specific also with the kind of moviegoers with the kind of movie they love to watch.
Here:
Moviegoers=general audience regardless of age in ALL WALKS OF LIFE
Children who love animated film=specific audience who do not read movie reviews on the internet
Now, to make the story short, there are many Switch owners out there who are children who only want to play video games and find no time for console debates on the internet. Do I have numbers? No, I don't have but the sales of Pokemon and Animal Crossing speak for it.
Do PS fans and XBox fans love debates about specs? Exclusives? Features? Price? Sales? Acquisitions? Yes, they do and they love to argue endlessly.
With that, I rest my case.

So your whole debate is based on fluffy and you call a closed case? Ok then, not sure why anyone was bothering asking you for evidence.
