Wait so cloud streaming exists outside of Japan now? Cause I have good internet! I'm hopeful this means other games will come to Switch for next gen that I wasn't expecting. I mostly game at my house anyway (like 99%), so needing to be around internet is not a problem for me. Why not just get games on my laptop? I do, when needed, but I'd prefer on Switch because I enjoy being able to play games handheld on my couch (it's cozier than staring at a TV), or in my dining/kitchen room while hanging with my wife and baby. It's not the portability OUTSIDE of the house that is appealing to me, but rather the portability INSIDE that is wonderful for me. Tornado warning? Take the Switch to the basement. Grilling meat on the deck? Take it outside. Need to rest your back and lay down on your bed? Take it with you there too. I know Immortals would look cooler on my 2080 super max, but I want to be more relaxed and maneuverable and so the Switch version is more appealing.

And by the way, I didn't start this post with the intention of becoming a commercial. It just happened.

I suspect these publishers wouldn't have paid for that much work to strip them down, probably anticipating these games to not sell enough to justify the expense. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that they wouldn't have ported these games without cloud, and so yeah that is better than nothing.

To be fair, control can barely run on the ps4 so a normal switch port would be near impossible.

I would probably agree with you in a case like the Witcher 3, but streaming is certainly better than a mediocre port I'd say (assuming the streaming is stable).

One could worry that with this becoming an option most developers would rather take the easy way out and do a streaming version rather than a port, but moving into next gen few new multiplat games would probably have be ported to the Switch anyways, so I don't think its something to worry too much about.

Did they tell us this was coming? They just released it out of the blue.

We'll be having further information (genre of the game and more) since the game launches in january (not so far to go), but yes, it seems that murata is behind the drawings.

And by the way, why was that announced only in Japan? 

only in for NMH ports if physical. Otherwise sticking with Wii versions

Heh, this Direct was shadow dropped.  Cloud gaming on Switch was also shadow dropped.  They just shadow drop everything now, lol. 

I would like to know more of the details behind Switch cloud gaming.  I also find it funny that we hear all of this hype about Stadia, xCloud, etc... stream services.  Then Nintendo comes along and starts streaming games like it's nothing?  WTF?  I need details.
