Forums - Movies & TV - Netflix Loses Millions of Subscriptions Over Controversial Film, "Cuties" For Sexploiting Children

Cuties is meant to be a commentary on how the world is influencing children to act more sexual, and why this is very clearly a bad thing. A lot of people are comparing it to how war pieces are also meant to showcase how war is bad.

The difference being, in war pieces, no actual wars are being shown. All of the characters are actors, nobody actually dies, all the blood and gore is fake. With Cuties, there is an actual shot of an 11 year old topless. That is an actual case of child pornography. Imagine if a war movie actually murdered someone on screen and showcased them actually fighting for their life as they died. That would be the equivalent here, and people would be just as disgusted.

And the funny part is that well a century or so ago 11-13 year old would be marrying and having actual sexual life. So I would say the world today is less sexuallized to children, it is just that there is more material available if you reach out.

As others have pointed out earlier in this thread, the girl who exposes her breast is over 18.

Is there an official source for that?

I justed watched this movie start to finish after reading this thread.

Going into it I felt reluctant because this thread made this out to be child pornography.

Having watched it I really don't know what the fuss was all about. I thought the movie was pretty good. Are all of you a bunch of prude Americans?

Maybe it's because I'm Dutch, gay, and don't have kids of my own.

I was born Dutch as well, moved to Canada at age 26 and yep it's a different culture when it comes to sex and nudity. Zwartboek (Black book here) wouldn't be possible here, Eyes wide shut is heavily censored etc. Nude beaches, never seen them around here. Exposing a breast in public to feed your baby is already under heavy debate.

When I was growing up kids also imitated Madonna from the MTV video clips. Nobody batted an eye at that. And we had the mini playback show on tv every week as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jC5_yJAjcQ I guess that's bad nowadays. Apologies for sharing child pornography from the 80's...

Never heard of the film before, but if Americans are frothing at the mouth over a nothing issue, it's of no surprise to me. This is the same hypocritical culture that loved the abused and exploited honey booboo. Why the hypocrisy?

EDIT

Ah, it's because in this film they're black.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

I remember being shocked after learning about that, another thing i recently discovered that shocked me are the American mukbangers that eat themselves to death for the entertainment of their audience.

Edit : Do no agree with how the movie cuties was filmed though.

No it's clearly not a case of child pornography or else officials would have pulled the film way before its release and criminal charges would have been filed for the movie makers.

The film depicts and criticises something that is 100% legal and that happens every day in our western societies. If you're disgusted by the things the film is showing you, which by the way is the intent of the film, you shouldn't get angry at the film but get angry at the society that allows this incredable early sexualisation of little girls.

Do not really mind it when it's a stranger but i must say it's akward to talk to familymembers while they do it ,but it's natural/good for the child and i respect it.

Oh and people from the Netherlands and Belgians are a bit different in my experience, the dutch are rather more talkative and open about sexual and social matters and Belgians keep that openness often for those that are really close to them.

On the other hand, the Netherlands are more religious.
