Forums - Sony - Would you consider getting the PS5 All-Digital Console if 100$ cheaper?

Would you get the All-Digital Edition if 100$ cheaper?

I want both physical and digital, so no. Plus I still buy copies of movies, anime, documentaries, ect that I like. To play devil's advocate regarding the physical/digital price discrepancy: I often find PSN to be at parity, or even lower than retail. Just as an example Days Gone, on sale right now at retail in Canada, is priced at $29.99 at both Best Buy and Amazon. Again, that's the sale price.....Current sale price for Days Gone on the Canadian PSN store? $18.99. And I see this kind of thing fairly often. Pricing must be a bit different in Canada.

I bought it for under 10$ at one point when there was a a PSN discount on it. SO yeah, I don't think that digital will affect my wallet in any significant way. Plus, I am giving way more of my money to the developer, especially with smaller titles.

But having a physical drive in no way prevents you from taking advantage of sales on PSN.  If you have a disk drive, you could take advantage of the best deal either way.

But I became a lazy fucker I hate changing discs... I know what you mean, I used to think like that at the beginning of this generation, but digital is much more convinient for me. Also the console is more streamlined as well... so yeah, digital for me.

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

Nope

Never. Not even for free.

No. The SSD space is going to be expensive. The disks will be able to hold up to 100GB's, so after a few games, that's going to make a difference in disk space. Also, any backwards compatibility is going to rely on the disc reader.

Yes. I haven't bought a physical game in years and IMO, digital games are cheaper. Also, I don't buy physical 4k movies (mostly streaming).

Absolutely not. Not even if it were $200 cheaper.

Buying it, even if it was the same price because fuck optical media :)
In all seriousness though, yes I will get it and save the money for even more storage further down the line.

I guess I will because I don't have many disc based games anymore but have the PS2 SMT games tho..

The digital version could also have a bigger HD.

No, and I would bet the two versions are about the same price if not exactly the same, too.
