Those that think they showed nothing current gen can't do most likely not even understand what they're looking at but it is a step above comments like ''Playstation is gay'' or ''lol 8 fps'' that plagued Youtube a bit ago.
GTAV add was such a weird start but what came after was mostly great,it's a 9/10 for me.

Were the presenters/devs rendered with PS5 game engine. They look so weird.

Dunno 6-7/10. As expected.

8/10
Pros:
- Graphics is impressive
- Lots of games shown, some of them look already interesting
Cons:
- Few actual gameplay shown

Overall, it's a good start

The GTA V inclusing feels to me to be a mix of marketing strategy and some sort of deal.

On one hand GTA V is a monster in terms of sales. So even if it's an old game, assuring fans that the game will be there probably assured a few million PS5 sales, as strange as that sounds.

On the deal side, Rockstar is a major developer, and Sony probably knows what projects they are developing, including the (almost surely) GTA VI.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Am I the only one who think the console looks cool?

Was an okay showing, a few great announcements like Demon Souls and Horizon 2 but.. nothing looked like the UE5 tech demo in terms of visuals and nothing showcasing that super fast SSD. Every game looks like it can play on current gen consoles. Not a fan of the console design.. it looks taller than the Series X and just too Alien Wareish.
I get the impression next gen is too early.

I think we're past the point in the development of technology where we're going to get something that truly couldn't be done before with only a 7 year gap.  If that's what you're after, you're probably going to be disappointed.

Especially with people wanting the future but at a price point around or not much more than the past gen , it also amuses me that people scream its the same but better looking , haven't they realised by now that from a pricing and  hardware perspective there is only so much they can do after all if you boil it down it's just delivering a series of pictures to a screen that you interact with via a controller and even if they could price it higher you would just be replicating high end PC's.

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

The Trailers are available on youtube in 4K?
Well I'm definitely rewatching, Spiderman, Gran Turismo, Kena and Horizon. Oh and Demon Souls too.

It was fantastic, loved it. showed a great mix of games and revealled the console design which I was incredibly shocked by and really like.

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

It was much better than I had hoped.

One of the best things about consoles is that physical media is completely DRM free. Making a digital version of a console is an attempt to kill that.

Microtransactions are "multiple options" too ya know.

Terrible take, no one is forcing you to buy the digital one, please feel free to get all the partial games in discs and then download the rest of it like you already do. But why should I have to pay for something i will never use (blu ray discs)? On the microtransactions that is an old hat too, clearly some games do microtransactions right, just because we don't partake in them, doesn't mean they are bad. Helps studios stay profitable while we enjoy the continuous game price drops (when accounting for inflation).

Partial games on disc? What exactly do you play, because whenever I buy a modern game on disc it is a complete game, identical to what you would get from buying it digitally on day 1. Stop acting like physical games only contain 50% of the game on disc.

You'd be smart to pay the extra $50 for the physical disc drive. You'd save way more than that $50 over the long run by buying used games for cheaper than you can find them on the PSN store.

Lol, what games do MTX right? They are all bad.

Please give me an example of a good studio that would have went under if not for MTX.

Discretionary spending is not affected by inflation. So no games are not cheaper these days. Not by a long shot.

Buying AAA games digitally on day one for $60 is almost always a rip off, just like Microtransactions. The profit margin on digital games is so high that they could release AAA games for $45 on launch, and still make a huge profit.

Whenever you buy a AAA digital game on a console, you are asking to lose access to it in about 10-15 years.

Hope you're not using netflix or spotify either. Or PC gaming for that matter... btw how are things back there in the 1990's? Hot tip, buy Apple and Amazon shares ASAP.

Netflix rents stuff, they don't sell stuff. Apples and Oranges comparison there. Does Spotify sell music?

Steam has been around for 17 years now. They aren't going anywhere. My games bought on GoG come DRM free. Meanwhile the Wii shop channel has been taken down already.
