How is the all digital a bad thing? This is definitely the one I'm getting

One of the best things about consoles is that physical media is completely DRM free. Making a digital version of a console is an attempt to kill that.

It's always sad when they give customers multiple options.

Just like with the Switch. So sad that there's a Lite version of the console.

So, so sad.

Microtransactions are "multiple options" too ya know.

Terrible take, no one is forcing you to buy the digital one, please feel free to get all the partial games in discs and then download the rest of it like you already do. But why should I have to pay for something i will never use (blu ray discs)? On the microtransactions that is an old hat too, clearly some games do microtransactions right, just because we don't partake in them, doesn't mean they are bad. Helps studios stay profitable while we enjoy the continuous game price drops (when accounting for inflation).

7

Solid Introduction and good pacing,

Ratchet, Horizon, Kena, Devil Inside were my favs of the show.

Not too many wow moments but a consistent show of interesting games, most looked cross gen

Agreed, 7 is the score I was going to give. Good pacing, nice presentation. Sony always nailed that with their E3 presentations.

Ratchet isn't my type of game but it looked good.
Project Athia looked nice but didn't see much at all.
Little Devil Inside had amazing style but I could have swore this game was shown years ago?
Deathloop also looked pretty nice. I am wondering if maybe it's PVP, one person as each of the assassins? That would be cool.

I was very interested in the Destruction All-Stars game at first but my desire decreased the longer the trailer went. I started thinking it was a next gen Wreckfest and then maybe a next gen Twisted Metal but watching the whole thing idk what the fuck it is and it doesn't look too appealing.

I also agree there were more than a few interesting games and a lot of it did look cross gen. For something a lot of people hyped as the showcase for why the PS5 SSD makes all the difference, I didn't see anything. Horizon 2 looked nice but it was not gameplay. It was like the Hellblade 2 trailer.

That console design though, what in the actual fuck? I have a history here of being against white consoles. Even taking the color out of the equation though, that design is goddamn hideous LOL. Very surprised to see they are going with a SAD edition, too. Wonder if the digital one has a larger SSD? It seems that would probably be MORE expensive? A BR drive can't be too expensive nowadays but doubling up on these expensive SSD capacities has to be pretty pricey.

So yeah, 7. Same score I'd give the Xbox show. Some cool new unknown games shown in both.

How so?

Because those games, in their form (particularly Sony's own games), could not have been done on current gen systems. I know this for a fact. So yes, you're wrong about it.

Nothing there a mid-range PC couldn't handle from last year.

The trailers are available in 4k, go ahead and take a look.

To the people thinking the exclusives shown would be doable last gen, I think they should a) get their eyes checked and b) go see how games like borderlands 3 and control play in last gen xD

I think an XBox One X with a better CPU could probably run most of what was shown. Base PS4/XB1 looks like an upgrade sure, but nothing a mid-range PC from 1-2 years ago couldn't do.

Lol, a high end PC shits its pants trying to play control at 4k with ray tracing, gtfo with some crappy xox with jaguar cpu xD

Btw, ratchet & clank is saying hi when transitioning from area to area with zero loadings. And as an aside, GT7 looks absolutely stunning, looking forward to see the dynamic weather teased during the video and how many fully detailed cars will be there.

Wrong again, especially when you consider what the SSD will be doing in pairing to the I/O (one of which you foolishly claimed was "overrated"). Otherwise, I'm all for the explanation on how (make sure you list this particular mid-ranged PC with its parts). How and where?

I'm torn. the game releases were a 12/10 (Spider-Man, Horizon, Ratchet & Clank, and Demon's Souls remakes are 4 of the top ten most wanted games of all time to me), so that was amazing.

but no release date/price hurts and I am not a fan of the console design.

still a 9/10.

I got it all, baby!

PS4, Switch, WiiU, XBO, PC
Vita, 3DS, Android

Top 6 this generation:
Bloodborne, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, God of War, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Dark Souls III, Red Dead Redemption II

This Event was awesome :) My favorites are:

And some other new games. Cant wait to see the new Spider-Man on PlayStation 5!

Game of the Year 2020: Ghost of Tsushima, Persona 5 Royal or The Last of Us 2 ?!

depends on what you call a "mid-range PC" - something with a $500 graphics card?

My most objective sense gives it a 8/10.
The promised titles shown all seemed of quality even if some looked more like full fledged trailer concept which doesn't bold well for a window release date.

Liked what I've seen from RE VIII though I expected Leon to appear at some point due to the strong influence this game seem to have from RE IV,lol.

The real crux is pretty evident though, this showcase appart from the Ratchet and Clank trailer was not the representation I had in mind for the next generation. Just feels to me that we're in the continuation of this 8.5 gen and nothing more.

Nicely put together but no wow/10

LOL. And they relate to multiple console SKUs... How?

Buying AAA games digitally on day one for $60 is almost always a rip off, just like Microtransactions. The profit margin on digital games is so high that they could release AAA games for $45 on launch, and still make a huge profit.

Whenever you buy a AAA digital game on a console, you are asking to lose access to it in about 10-15 years.

Hope you're not using netflix or spotify either. Or PC gaming for that matter... btw how are things back there in the 1990's? Hot tip, buy Apple and Amazon shares ASAP.
