Forums - Gaming Discussion - We will get UE 5 level of graphic on games from PS5 year one (2020 -2021)

What do you think

Nah we will see it day one 9 23.68%

Yeah agree 11 28.95%

Nah probably another two years 18 47.37%

Water is wet 0 0%

Total:38

Actually looking back at 2013 PS4 reveal , we have similar demo running on PS4 on real time which is Unreal Engine 4

Just watching the demo , i have realized how amazing the demo was back then, but then again this demo actually has been surpassed by Killzone shadow fall day one

That's why i am pretty confident  100% sure we will see a better graphic than UE 5 demo

Sony has been working with EPIC about future rendering tech and EPIC has been giving Mark Cerny a lot of input on developing PS5 and their tech behind fast IO/ SSD .

I bet we will see something better comes up from Sony first party IP. Also you might want to check game developer react with Unreal V demo and how fast IO storage is very important in this particular demo

Don't expect to much so you won't be disappointed.
But yes I expect great graphics from PS5 exclusives.

So I think it will be challenging.

That's true, but for short games like 5-8 hour longs it should be more than doable. Hell, I am expecting even better visual fidelity for adventure titles and walking simulators (man I hate that term).

That's why i believe we will not see God of War 2 on PS5 soon. I am expecting 2024 for God of War 2 with better quality far exceeding UE 5

Short games have been known to fail. Just look at The Order: 1886. Great graphics, but probably not a profitable game.

He wants Kudos for himself.

That's what I was thinking, XD

@OP I don't think Shadow Fall is a clear comparison for a layman such as myself; two very different settings. The UE4 demo was soundly beat by God of War though, that's for sure. I'm not expecting the demo to be achieved year one but I'm expecting it to be surpassed after a few years.

Well, here's an idea of the exact type of quality you'll get by Jan 2022 (yes, mark it)...

Img

Remember what I said about instancing? 4K? High poly count (8.7m polygons here)? That is a scene I rendered using all of the game engines I could while incorporating everything I've explained since 2018. This is the typical look for an open-linear game in the next generation. So, think Tomb Raider, Uncharted, or Gears of War... This is much like the Epic UE5 demo, but the character is of higher quality (quality you van expect the PS5 and Xbox Series X to pull off).

When the first PS5 exclusives are shown off, come back and compare. Hint: You're welcome :)

But Platinum Games CEO said there won't be a visual difference in graphics for the next gen and also we have that DSLL3.0 on Switch 2 will have the same IQ using 1/10 of the power.

Prepare to be disappointed. UE5 won’t even be ready until later next year. Every gen is the same story and every gen people get hyped and let down because the graphics they expect don’t happen until year 2 at the earliest. And even if they do meet expectations, I guarantee FPS and resolution will make compromises.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Honestly if year 1 we will get similar jumps than what we got with Ryse SoR, Killzone SF and Infamous SS it's fine by me
