This should put to rest speculation that Sony would hold back The Last of Us Part II to release simultaneously on the PS4 and as a PS5 launch title. It seemed weird to me that people kept citing Zelda Twilight Princess and Breath of the Wild as examples of the release pattern Sony would follow when they already set a precedent for this situation with The Last of Us Remastered launching on PS4 in 2014. The way I see it The Last of Us Part II will see a PS5 release some time next summer. I think Naughty Dog want to take the time to optimize the game for PS5 (and hopefully add multiplayer).

Shouldn't this message read: "Discuss as if you had NO knowledge of spoiler details" ?

On Twitter it's worse the situation.  

So actually the game was 100% ready for release. Once the ending leaked its "hey lets release it asap before people give up buying it".
This leak is epic in the impact for the industry, will always be mentioned in games discussions in the future. It made a company drastically change its plans on the release of a game.

If they just released it digitally then there would have been no leaks. 

Something happened between the announcement of the delayed to the new release date. Who knows if that have anything to do with this. 

Really looking forward to GoT. Too bad the ending is gonna suck.

We've talked about this before, I know you're a fan of just using digital distribution in this instance and I disagree as 50% of players in this ecosystem use physical media instead. Furthermore, the leak is inexcusable and defending it like that is in poor taste. This is not Sony or ND's fault but rather a pathetic ex employee trying to ruin a company and its fans enjoyment of the product. I am not engaging any more on this issue with you.
