Cerny just mentioned 10,3 Tflops for the GPU... so yep PS4 is slower than Xbox Series X.

Price matters though. So long as it's $400 they should be fine. For all we know XB1X could be $600-$700. I'm guessing $500, but anything could happen.

~15% differnce in performance isnt enough to make me go xbox, even if it was priced the same.
I like the ecosystem of the playstation, and that they have alot of japanese games.

Hopefully its cheaper, but I guess it would still sell more than xbox even if their priced the same.

The "256bit bus"  + "only 36CU" (gpu) means the chip is gonna be alot smaller than the Xbox Series X's.
So they should have room for a price advantage.

It might have some secret source that can probably squeeze out 1-2 additional TF if they want.

Assuming 1 PS5 tflop = 1 XBSX tflop.

I like this but they should have had a more fast showing for the masses before they did this one.

Good explaination of why they choose fewer CU running faster, instead of more running slower speeds.
I didnt know there was additional gains, other than the chip size ones.

I was thinking the same.

The way this guy talks is so smooth, I love it.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Xbox series X was what? 520 GB/s memory bandwidth  vs Playstation 5's 448 GB/s.
GPU its 12.15 Tflops vs 10.3 Tflops.

Xbox will be faster.

However SSD might favor Playstation 5 by alot, when it comes to speed.
(2,4 GB/s vs 5,5 GB/s)

https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2020-playstation-5-specs-and-tech-that-deliver-sonys-next-gen-vision

DF is already talking about the difference maybe smaller than the 15% based on comparing raw TF numbers, since the clock speed of the GPU is 18% higher. However the CPU runs slightly slower than the Series X (3.5 Ghz vs 3.8 Ghz)
Memory is both slower (than the 10GB) and faster (than the 6GB), all operating at the same speed sitting in the middle.
Biggest difference is the SSD, more than twice as fast (5.5 GB/s instead of 2.4) and also with compression.

But same as Series X, only 16 GB total memory, might be a bit tight.

So different yet practically the same, apart from the vast difference in SSD speed.

The audio stuff sounds nice but the wy he worded it as a multiyear process makes it seem that it wont be 100% there for awhile after launch.

So ps5 has weaker gpu and weaker cpu.
I fear for 4k at 60fps
