GPU 10.28 TFLOPs, 36 CUs at 2.23GHz (variable frequency) 1.84 TFLOPs, 18 CUs at 800MHz
GPU Architecture Custom RDNA 2 Custom GCN
Memory/Interface 16GB GDDR6/256-bit 8GB GDDR5/256-bit
Memory Bandwidth 448GB/s 176GB/s
Internal Storage Custom 825GB SSD 500GB HDD
IO Throughput 5.5GB/s (Raw), Typical 8-9GB/s (Compressed) Approx 50-100MB/s (dependent on data location on HDD)
Expandable Storage NVMe SSD Slot Replaceable internal HDD
External Storage USB HDD Support USB HDD Support
Optical Drive 4K UHD Blu-ray Drive Blu-ray Drive

How does the cpu compare? 4x better? 5x?

Sony should have just made this a blog post or a Wired article. I'll keep watching with hoping they show the console.

You have earned a trophy.
Spend 20 minutes talking about SSD's.

Jaguar and Zen are different aritectures so its much much much better.

Oh please Cerny SSDs are old tech... no need to explain every detail of them for half an hour.
Especially devs know about that since they asked for it to be included.

Let me guess: You have no clue at all what he is trying to explain..

Here we go, the GPU!

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

"What do you want to see most from Mark Cerny ?"

I voted Everything.

I win!

CPU: Ryzen 7950X
GPU: MSI 4090 SUPRIM X 24G
Motherboard: MSI MEG X670E GODLIKE
RAM: CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM 32GB DDR5
SSD: Kingston FURY Renegade 4TB
Gaming Console: PLAYSTATION 5

My PC is looking better and better. A 3070 for $500, sell my 2070 S for $200, and I'll be at 1440p/144 FPS, with way the hell more games than Xbox, and possibly PS5 exclusives to boot.

Zed 2 is like x2-3 the performance of equal jaguar cores ones, i think, theres a massive differnce between these architectures.
Ontop of that, 3.5Ghz > 1.6Ghz  (x2.2)

Somewhere between 4 to 6 times, I'd guess.
