The peak in Ontario was 634 reported cases (Apr 23) which dropped down to 294 (May 10), filtered the drop was 47% (595 -> 316)
And now we're posting just over 400 a day again.

Edit: Ontario already put its numbers up, higher again +460. However pending tests dropped by 2500, so perhaps a part of the 460 belonged to yesterday, not that that matters much. A full week of increasing daily cases, 3 day avg growth rate of 121% week over week atm.
This week 2,847 reported cases
Last week 2,412 reported cases
118% change compared to a full week ago, 1.024x daily growth, 29.3 days to double, so still plenty of time to adjust course.
Hopefully it will sort itself out and the recent increase is from people getting excited to get out again.
Anyway phase 2 should be delayed by a week I would think, 2 weeks of consistent decline was the requirement.

Ontario not doing good enough, Stockholm peaked at ~200 cases per day and stayed there for about a month. 14 million people live in Ontario compared to 2.3 million in Stockholm region. You guys need to hit 1200+ cases a day to beat stockholm.

Even your own google mobility report shows Stockholm behaviour getting worse, we shall see I think it's immunity that is bringing cases down and the behaviour in Stockholm is just getting worse.

63% of reported cases in Ontario are in Greater Toronto area (5.9 million)
The city of Toronto (2.93 million) has been reporting 180 cases a day on average last week.
https://www.toronto.ca/home/covid-19/covid-19-latest-city-of-toronto-news/covid-19-status-of-cases-in-toronto/
It had peaked earlier and is still below that peak, but a resurgence happened
The week before Toronto had average 141 cases a day, The province went up 118% week over week, Toronto 128% week over week.
(Peak week had 253 new cases a day in the City of Toronto, so still almost 30% down from the peak)

Any little immunity Toronto has by now isn't standing up to mass gatherings. If immunity actually works (the level of immunity you need to protect against different levels of exposure or different strains is still completely unknown) then yes, it will have a minor effect. If 10% actually has effective anti bodies, then that should bring the rate of infection down by 10%. It will play a small part compared to social distancing measures. It all depends on how mobility goes up, mass gatherings in parks and clubs bad, going back to work while social distancing, no problem.

Something else, reporters nowadays. Read this

He gets tested positive for anti-bodies, can only think of a bad pneumonia he had in Januari, but refuses to accept that as a possibility. Out of fear to be labeled the first case in the UK? What about investigative journalism, go check out all those stories of military athletes that came back sick in November or got sick shortly after coming back from Wuhan. Test them for anti bodies.

Oliver Gorges was supposed to go for an anti body test last week, no update on that.

Best is when they say serious complications may arise even including death when listing side effects.

Basically they market the drug for someone to go to doctor and be like hey I want that name brand drug when it should be that someone goes to doctor and tells them symptoms then the doctor can recommend treatment and if drug maybe required then offer both name brand and generic choices for the patient.

Basically drug companies shouldn't be able to advertise on TV but they allow them here.  There are a ton of ads especially for programs that cater to order people.

We get them all here as well (Canada), so many Humira, shingles, diabetes, viagra, various depression adds, always with happy smiling people and uplifting music while rattling off a huge list of terrible side effects, ending with Ask your doctor if Humira can work for you. Doctors here must all be incompetent that they don't what to prescribe :)

I also can't stand all those nicotine adds, patches, shots, gum for cravings, find the right combination for you. It doesn't seem like they want you to get off smoking, just want you to get onto the better profit margins of the crap replacing smoking.

Then you get all the shady lawyer commercials, crash in a car call william matar, class action suits (usually against pharma or hospitals), work injuries (workers comp) and other stuff. There's a hilarious 'reality' show on nowadays, personal injury court. It's pure satire, except it pretends it's supposed to be taken seriously. It's on every day, always good for a laugh. Millions of dollars law suits cause someone fell of a ladder in someone's backyard, or shot themselves in the head with a nail gun. It's always someone else's fault. It's all cheap make up (making 'wounds' look fresh) with head contraptions and oversize casts and overly dramatic acting. An 'expert' explaining the injury in detail while the audience groans on command. Now it's time for the legal sauce. The scary thing is while the show is all acting, it's based on real cases... Judge Judy is still the best, You're an idiot, sit down and shut up.

Wow, that sounds nuts.

The state of anti-body testing in Canada:

BC: Those who participate in an online survey through the B.C. Centre for Disease Control can sign up for antibody testing using LIAISON, a test method now approved by Health Canada once it becomes available in the province. The province is collaborating with Health Canada to assess the accuracy and performance of COVID-19 antibody testing before making it available.

Alberta: According to Alberta Health Services (AHS), Alberta Precision Laboratories is in the final stages of validating multiple serology tests for COVID-19 antibodies. AHS said there is no timeline on when widespread antibody testing will be made available for Albertans, but an initial serological strategy could be in place by the end of May.

Saskatchewan: The provincial government is looking into the antibody testing approved by Health Canada, but Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Saqib Shahab said the test likely won’t be available to residents for weeks or even months.

Manitoba: Manitoba will participate in the federal random testing effort using the LIAISON test method over the next two years. It has not yet been determined who will participate, when the tests will be available and for whom.

Ontario: Ontario is helping fund CONCOR-1's clinical trial that will collect blood plasma from individuals who have recovered (only hospitalized patients) from COVID-19 to study its antibodies that may help fight the virus. A biomedical engineer at the University of Toronto says his team has also developed a synthetic antibody that could be ready for clinical trials in two months.

Quebec: Antibody studies are ongoing in Quebec, but health officials say more people infected with COVID-19 are needed as participants.

Nova Scotia: Halifax-based research company MedMira has developed a COVID-19 antibody test and is ready to begin surveillance programs. The test is currently under review by the FDA and EUA but has not been approved by Health Canada.

Prince Edward island: Antibody tests for people who have recovered from COVID-19 are being discussed in the province.

Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Yukon, Northwest territories, Nunavut:
There is currently no information on COVID-19 antibody testing in the province.

So basically nothing yet, except in Quebec there are some ongoing studies, although

https://montreal.ctvnews.ca/health-canada-looking-into-unauthorized-antibody-testing-at-montreal-clinic-1.4939804

A large Montreal health clinic has been offering unregulated coronavirus antibody tests at $195 each, CTV News has learned. This testing at Clinique Medic Elle is drawing harsh words from provincial and federal authorities, who are warning people to stay on guard about COVID-related health services they see advertised and check carefully whether they’re permitted. “The ministry denounces this kind of clinic and asks the public to avoid this type of operation,” wrote Marie-Louise Harvey, a spokeswoman for Quebec’s health ministry, in an email.

Divided we keep waiting together :/

Cant wait for the antibody tests in Ohio. Back in January-February, a buddy of mine that's an executive at a big factory had a mystery illness go through the company. Lots of people got sick and they didn't know what it was. Since then, they've been running at 120% capacity with almost no infected workers. Wondering if he gave it to me and I was asymptomatic the whole time, too.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Day 19 of zero new Corona virus cases for my state.
Still zero people with an active case.

Can we make it to a whole month?
The Eastern states had a couple of new cases, one at a school, not really a concern over this way with the border controls still in place.

Which state do you live in again?

Either way, great news!

Less than 2 weeks ago I was worried about the lines freezing up on the pool (-4c at night) and cold days keeping the water down to 11c.
Today, first heat event warning, temperatures up to 30c, with humidity feels like 36c by 2pm and only going down to 20c at 4am.
The pool is nice now, 24c already after a string of warm days with lots of sun. Not so nice, forest fires are already starting.

The high heat will have less people going out, thus might be good to slow the spread. Heat will naturally have people stay away from each other, too hot!

https://toronto.ctvnews.ca/toronto-opens-emergency-cooling-centres-as-heat-warning-continues-1.4954686

Facilities that helped people stay cool in previous years, including shopping malls and city-run pools, are currently closed in an effort to slow the spread of the virus.

“For this reason, the city’s plan for heat relief this year has been modified and includes a select number of emergency cooling centres that will open across Toronto during Heat Warnings,” the news release continued. “The emergency cooling centres are offered to residents as a last resort, if they do not have access to a cool space and cannot keep cool in their home or outdoors.”

Starting today, cooling centres will be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., offering an air-conditioned space for people to rest and grab a cool drink. “Staff who are trained to assist residents affected by the extreme heat will be on hand. Strict infection prevention and control measures will be in place,” the city said.

I don't mind the heat. I'm planning on going for a 60km bike ride later, perhaps further. I've cycled in much higher heat, just take enough water, cycle faster to cool down :) First get the kids in the pool after they're done their home schooling. 10AM 25c feels like 32c outside.

India is starting to get pretty bad, I'll be adding them to my graphs soon. India passed Iran already in total cases and is now the 4th largest reporter of daily new cases. (After USA, Brazil and Russia) 6700 cases a day atm with a doubling time just under 13 days.

Europe is still doing well, only the Netherlands is showing signs of heading back to growth. 3 day avg of 106% week over week, yet with the cases being sub 200 it's likely just some variation in reporting. I'll post my Europe graphs tomorrow (or tonight), waiting for Spain to show some useful numbers. The last update on infometer has -372 cases and -1915 deaths... Corrections, no good for looking at trends. Kinda weird to start subtracting cases when both are under counted yet more and more countries are now doing this.

Germany saw a decrease of 24% in new infections week over week from 4.7k to 3.6k.
Numbers in 14 out of 16 federal states declined but two of them increased by 30-45% which is somewhat concerning.
Testing capacity for the past week will be revealed tomorrow. Doubt it will change much.

I'm for reopening but this is not the way to do it.

We are going for herd immunity now.  Let's see what happens in about 2 weeks...  Yea I'm all for opening up but there should have been 1/2 as many people in that pool.  Hotel or wherever that took place should be fined.
