Less than 2 weeks ago I was worried about the lines freezing up on the pool (-4c at night) and cold days keeping the water down to 11c.
Today, first heat event warning, temperatures up to 30c, with humidity feels like 36c by 2pm and only going down to 20c at 4am.
The pool is nice now, 24c already after a string of warm days with lots of sun. Not so nice, forest fires are already starting.

The high heat will have less people going out, thus might be good to slow the spread. Heat will naturally have people stay away from each other, too hot!

Facilities that helped people stay cool in previous years, including shopping malls and city-run pools, are currently closed in an effort to slow the spread of the virus.

“For this reason, the city’s plan for heat relief this year has been modified and includes a select number of emergency cooling centres that will open across Toronto during Heat Warnings,” the news release continued. “The emergency cooling centres are offered to residents as a last resort, if they do not have access to a cool space and cannot keep cool in their home or outdoors.”

Starting today, cooling centres will be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., offering an air-conditioned space for people to rest and grab a cool drink. “Staff who are trained to assist residents affected by the extreme heat will be on hand. Strict infection prevention and control measures will be in place,” the city said.

I don't mind the heat. I'm planning on going for a 60km bike ride later, perhaps further. I've cycled in much higher heat, just take enough water, cycle faster to cool down :) First get the kids in the pool after they're done their home schooling. 10AM 25c feels like 32c outside.

India is starting to get pretty bad, I'll be adding them to my graphs soon. India passed Iran already in total cases and is now the 4th largest reporter of daily new cases. (After USA, Brazil and Russia) 6700 cases a day atm with a doubling time just under 13 days.

Europe is still doing well, only the Netherlands is showing signs of heading back to growth. 3 day avg of 106% week over week, yet with the cases being sub 200 it's likely just some variation in reporting. I'll post my Europe graphs tomorrow (or tonight), waiting for Spain to show some useful numbers. The last update on infometer has -372 cases and -1915 deaths... Corrections, no good for looking at trends. Kinda weird to start subtracting cases when both are under counted yet more and more countries are now doing this.
