Sweden finally decided to banned gatherings over 50 people... we still havent heard what types of gatherings is not effected...
Still isnt enough but atleast its something.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/23/swedish-pm-warned-russian-roulette-covid-19-strategy-herd-immunity

"Criticism is mounting in Sweden of the government’s approach to Covid-19, with academics warning that its strategy of building broad immunity while protecting at-risk groups – similar to that initially adopted by the UK – amounted to “Russian roulette” and could end in disaster."

That was from 3-4days ago.
Sweden has been the most "lax" country in europe probably with reguards to this covid-19, and takleing of it.
Theres pictures of group gatherings at bars, and resturants ect.

If you look at how fast the spread is going up there, you notice its starting to pull ahead of say denmark, but surpriseingly not norway.
So whos to say how effective all this "mitigation" with lockdowns really is?

I know it takes awhile before you see any effects of such, so maybe its still to early to see if the way sweden took, leads to a worse outcome than other places.

Same holds true for the UK.

I'm shocked that so little is being done here, I visited my family in Norway a couple of weeks ago, drove back yesterday, not a single soul on the border and completely free passage into Sweden. Even in my house here in Stockholm, people are scurrying about as usual, despite most of the tenants being elderly and/or belonging to various groups at risk.

Stockholm city has decided that restaurants will be allowed to open their outdoor seating and serving earlier this year in order to get more people to go out and eat and drink at bars and restaurants. They refuse to close bars and pubs, but say it's not allowed to stand in the bar to order, gyms and swimming pools still open, schools still open (universities and high schools are closed though), and graduate students in senior high are going to be allowed back in school as well.

I went to buy some groceries a few hours ago, stores were packed, people standing with their nethers pressed together in queues, pushing around and generally acting as if nothing's amiss. And the two stores I visited were positively swimming with elderly people.

Why did Norway enforce mandatory measures? Because that's apparently the only that works. People here in Stockholm are still going skiing in other regions as well, fucking idiots. Sweden has a death rate three times higher than Norway now but insists that the Norwegians are making a mistake (and the rest of Europe as well, of course). Unbelievable is what it is.

I feel sorry for my friends who work at hospitals here. And I feel sorry for the Swedish people who are being led by such a feeble bunch. The only reason Riksdagen isn't pushing for more mandatory quarantine measures is that they're afraid of being blamed for crashing the economy. Let's see what happens when the healthcare system collapses; it was on its way even before the pandemic. Fucking hell.

wow... just wow.

Their basically saying you cant (always) expect to get proper help, or lasting help, if you actually need it.
If they cant handle the burden, they ll be picking the younger or more healthy, people to live.

Please understand, why we let you die.

It sounds bad when they actually say it... but its probably soon a situation alot of hospitals could be in.
And in that sense, its admirable their atleast honest about it.

If we run out of beds/ventilators, we ll be picking the ones with highest chances of survival to live, and letting others just die.

Hopefully someone can get the damn antibody tests and pharma companies should be forced to mass produce them for worldwide production alongside PPE and ventilators. This is one way of a small helping hand out of this, but the time needed... even the best solutions for bridges over either side of this take too much damn time. Are we left at the end of the day to just try and gamble a time out of lockdown and hope the hospitals are up to capacity and the essential work force don't drop dead in a month. Awe, man. This is the worst apocalypse scenario, the slow drop into incremental worsening outcomes with the good outcomes always blocked by time. It'd make for a fantastic Sci-fi novel but yeah, fuck this. There's too many people on the damn planet for an economic depression and there is no way out of it without gambling the whole fucking system on either side of the viruses walls. It's such a cosmic joke that Kenny Rogers died this month.

Sorry, we don't believe in slavery.

Yes, you do. It's the defence production act and if it doesn't already it should be re written to include pharma companies.

No we don't. The workers don't have to produce anything and can only be incentivized by monetary gains.

Its a matter of how likely you think it is to keep spreading.
Sweden is all in, playing this game of poker, on herd immunity and smart isolation of the risk groups.

Its about to get really dangerous in sweden, for the elderly (large amounts of the population will soon have this virus).
Also its likely that hospitals will soon be overwhelmed so death rates will go way up.

However on the bright side, if your a old person, and you manage to survive the next month or two, chances are you wont have to worry about it anymore. While in other countries where spread is slower, you might "worry" about getting it for along time to come.

Its a balanceing act.
Sweden believes its takeing the right course, and everyone else in the world is wrong.

UK was on the same path until resently.
Then they chicken out.....  Sweden is gonna brave this risk, and see how it plays out.

To be fair, some places in the US, their doing the same, though probably more due to greed or worry about the economy.
Only time will tell which route was the best one.

If theres a another outbreak spread, say 6-12months from now.
Sweden is the smartest kid on the block.

^ if not, it likely killed alot of people for no reason.

+969 deaths in Italy only today, I only hope that we will have nevermore a bigger daily number than this...

Beyond that, today we have found another 6K cases through 35K tests...

I'm sure the workers would all love to do it and even work many extra hours. It's only some people in higher positions who might be against it but it's also not slavery just to tell them that they have no power anymore^^
