Sadly another 743 deaths in Italy the last 24 hours.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

And Spain is almost as bad now. I don't even want to know the real numbers from countries like Iran or India especially the next weeks.

10 days ago there was only ~2,000+ infected confirmed cases in the US.
Today its like ~43,000 confirmed cases.

its crazy what just 10days can do.

And tomorrow we will hit 50,000+

I calculate the doubling rate at 2.5 days.  So, 50k tomorrow, 100k Friday.

Probably hit like ~55,000 today, if today is like a 11,000+ confirmed or so.

Any muslim country is suspect in that regard. For religious reasons, dead people have to be buried asap and no tests are done of course. And the medical systems in many of those countries probably cannot deal with it).

What people really want to know is the real numbers in China. Absolutely noone believes the offical numbers from the government. Two weeks ago, the chinese Ueberguru visited Wuhan and since then, absolutely no local politician or any doctors might have dared tell of more deaths (making the Ueberguru lose his face which is an absolute no-no in Asia, that would probably mean instant disappearance or other fates like it happened to the first doctor that made noise).

Yeah, there is no way China gave the real numbers. I'm leaning towards, atm, 7% mortality rate when everything is closed up and hospitals return to a relative normal before handling a second outbreak or smaller waves. It's def not 3.4%, That's for damn sure unless China has 50 times the ICU beds as any other nation in the world and the staff to man them. We'll never know how many died from apartment buildings being welded shut for six weeks either.

Please, do explain how you come to an estimate more than twice as grim than what any medical expert has suggested.

This will unfortunately still go on for a while.

Comparing China to Italy (at least from what we know)

Januari 23rd China went into lock down.
The thick red line is the avg daily increase in cases (on a logarithmic scale) which started to go down around Februari 5th. (Then a big spike from adjustments)
The thin red line is the avg daily death count which didn't really start to go down until Februari 24th. A month after lock down, 19 days after the growth reversed.

Lombardy went into lock down on March 8th, the rest of the country March 9th.
March 21st seems to have been the turning point, 13 days after lock down, same as in China.
The active cases still kept piling up until Februari 17th in China, 12 days after the growth reversed.

If Italy follows the same pattern, active case load will keep climbing until April 3rd and the deaths won't come down much until April 10th :(

I've been eating a lot more lately being stuck at home. Anyone else experiencing the same thing?

Hopefully thinks dont develop that badly.
That sounds like you think theres like 13,000+ more deaths to come in italy over the next 2 weeks or so.

Its already taken almost 7000 there.
If this outbreak goes on for months to come, its gonna get depressing real quick.

I wouldn't say I'm eating more, but I am eating less healthy.  I usually wake up early enough to cook some scrambled eggs or oatmeal every morning before this, and now that I'm working from home Ive been skipping either breakfast or lunch and mostly eating just two meals a day.  I still get out to run 4-5 times per week, but I am missing the gym.  I am defiantly drinking more liquor, that's for sure!
