Look at the release dates of some previous remakes after a new gen.

Ruby/Sapphire-Nov 2002

FireRed/LeafGreen-Jan 2004

14 months

X/Y-Oct 2013

OmegaRuby/AlphaSapphire-Nov 2014

13 months

2 of the 3 remakes released barely more than a year later.

But using context from right now, 1 year is too small of a gap.

I have no idea what that means

Maybe you should use context from his context in a recontext way to recontextualize your current construct of said situation.

Well damn, you make it sound so simple

That remaking games take longer now due to hd development and overall larger scale.

But does it?  They already have engines that they could use from Let's Go or Sword and Shield.  All of the Pokemon have 3D models from 3DS that could be updated, or models in Sword and Shield.  Other franchises that are much larger in scale have no issue doing annual installments, and those are larger in scale then Pokemon.

I know, but they've done so many thinks in such a short amount of time I don't know what to think it's below them anymore.

We know they still have some limits... for some reason. If they were gonna go full greed we'd see lootboxes and microtransactions. I do think they may as well implement these practices with how far they've gone already, at least that way Nintendo's good games can be made better. Trying and failing to keep up the false pretense that quality and consumer satisfaction are #1 doesn't benefit us the consumers and is only leaving money on the table for Nintendo.

Nah, overpriced DLC is still leagues away from MTX on the scumbag level. When Bethesda came out with the underwhelming Operation Anchorage and Mothership Zeta DLC for Fallout 3 almost nobody complained. They just bought The Pitt, Broken Steel, and Point Lookout. Or waited for the GotY edition, which I remember launching for $40.

The problem here is that GF actually thinks their DLC is worth $30. It's a sprinkling of updates ala BotW expansion pass, that should have been in the game already. If it was $20 like BotW's DLC I'd be fine with it. Or if it was essentially a whole other game like Xenoblade 2's or Three Houses' DLC content I'd be happy paying $30 for it. But no, it'll be two new wild areas and not much else.

I agree that 30$ is better but I was confused by the ending, thought it was 30$ for each DLC =p.

I never once bought the old 3rd versions, and never felt I was missing anything from them. I mean, what did  Crystal, Platinum, Ultra, really add to the games? A new legendary, and a couple new pokes. Right?

And even if I was so inclined to get the 3rd version, I could just sell my original version for 80% of the full price, because that's how much Nintendo and Poke'mon games hold their value. Poke'mon Black for example still goes for $33 CIB! Diamond goes for $24. SoulsSilver goes for $48! That's more than the game friggin launched at! Source: pricecharting.com

3rd versions include new gameplay features, remixed plots, more pokemon, new characters, new areas, new modes, QOL improvements

This really isnt all that different.

I looked over most of the improvements for these games. It really looks like just a bunch of minor improvements.

That would suggest that you need $60 for both DLC sets combined.

Thankfully Nintendo's Site says otherwise.

Sw/Sh have separate passes so you get specific content for the version of the game you have that's what its referring to not the content.
