But does it?  They already have engines that they could use from Let's Go or Sword and Shield.  All of the Pokemon have 3D models from 3DS that could be updated, or models in Sword and Shield.  Other franchises that are much larger in scale have no issue doing annual installments, and those are larger in scale then Pokemon.
