We know they still have some limits... for some reason. If they were gonna go full greed we'd see lootboxes and microtransactions. I do think they may as well implement these practices with how far they've gone already, at least that way Nintendo's good games can be made better. Trying and failing to keep up the false pretense that quality and consumer satisfaction are #1 doesn't benefit us the consumers and is only leaving money on the table for Nintendo. |
Nah, overpriced DLC is still leagues away from MTX on the scumbag level. When Bethesda came out with the underwhelming Operation Anchorage and Mothership Zeta DLC for Fallout 3 almost nobody complained. They just bought The Pitt, Broken Steel, and Point Lookout. Or waited for the GotY edition, which I remember launching for $40.
The problem here is that GF actually thinks their DLC is worth $30. It's a sprinkling of updates ala BotW expansion pass, that should have been in the game already. If it was $20 like BotW's DLC I'd be fine with it. Or if it was essentially a whole other game like Xenoblade 2's or Three Houses' DLC content I'd be happy paying $30 for it. But no, it'll be two new wild areas and not much else.
