My first 3... Sea of thieves and Master Chief collection for sure. Then any pick from my backlog. But I am fairly interested in Yakuza now.

👀 That’s fucked up. I’m telling Ryuu you’re bullying me

Another game completed. This time Journey to the Savage Planet.

Enjoyable game for the most part. World design is quite good and it's also pleasant to look at.

The game has some metroidvania elements so you can come back to previous areas and get all sorts of collectibles.

Combat isn't the game's strong suit. All you get is a plasma pistol and a melee attack. There's also a ground stomp that you could use against enemies I guess but considering the majority of them can only be hurt by hitting very specific weak points, I don't know why you would use it. There's also a charged pistol shot. By the time it's charged you can easily shoot multiple times at the weak spot, so once more useless IMO. Once you fully upgraded your weapon, weakpoints can be destroyed in one or two shots anyway. There are lots of utilites such as bait, grenades, shock fruits and other stuff but again most aren't very useful except for the times you have to use them to get access to a certain area.

There also aren't really that many enemies in the game. You will most likely die from fall damage as jumping is one of the main elements in the game. (There's an upgrade later where fall damage is completely removed.)

Game takes about 10 hours for 100% completion (doesn't include the speedrun achievement). I also bought but haven't started the DLC yet but according to TA that's only adding somewhere between 1 and 2 hours of content.

Some more negatives: Creature sounds can be annoying (Pufferbird scream. Most common animal in the game). Objective markers are hard to follow sometimes. Game doesn't pause upon pressing start or select.

Some positives: The A.I. voice that talks to you has some funny lines. Game can be played in co-op (that's why you can't pause).

Check it out if you haven't already. Don't expect a lot of combat but don't expect a lot of puzzles either. It's more of an exploration game with lots of platforming elements. I definitely had more fun with it than with No Man's Sky.

7.5/10

Josh was asked what he would do with an extra year of development and mentioned they had an entire end game planned.

That's one thing I hated about New Vegas, which I hate about most RPGs where it doesn't make sense (like if the MC dies), completing the story and then being thrown back to a previous save.

If they remake New Vegas they should remaster the base game + Xbox should give Obsidian that extra time needed to add in all their cut content.

I don't know why publishers never gave Obsidian enough dev time back in those days. LucasArts made Obsidian release KOTOR 2 with just 18 months of development because they wanted it out in time for the Holiday season, and it was a buggy mess with lots of cut content as a result of LucasArts rushing them. Then Bethesda went and did exactly the same thing, gave them less than 2 years to develop Fallout New Vegas, even though Bethesda themselves got 2 and a half years to develop Fallout 3. Even worse, they gave Obsidian a bullshit metacritic stipulation where if New Vegas failed to meta over 90 Obsidian wouldn't be paid a substantial bonus, and metaing over 90 was impossible since they gave them less than 2 years to develop it, they were forced to release it in a terribly buggy state (I remember characters walking through the air when I played New Vegas the first time).

I would love to see a remaster for both KOTOR 2 and Fallout New Vegas, each with nice graphical improvements, extra bug fixes, and all of the cut content added in.

Bethesda:  Obsidian would you like to make a fallout game?
Obsidian: Hell Yes!
Bethesda: We have some requests though.
Obsidian: Like what?
Bethesda: We release a big game in 2011 and we would like FNV releases in 2010 so the two projects would not hurt each others sales also if you make it good enough lets say 85 on metacritic we give you an extra bonus. Do you accept?
Obsidian: Yes we can no worries.

Obsidan stars to work on it and have a lot of ideas with everyone working on parts of the game....  6 months before release they find out that they probably overestimated themself....3 months before release and with a large number of people who could not finish their ideas/Quests on time they start to cut stuff that also hurts some quests and needs changes that again leads to more cut content and especially bugs......

Game ended with 84 on metacritic and one of the biggest reasons why it not scored more was......Bugs...Bugs...bugs...and even more bugs....  I had the open pipboy while you get attacked and killed....ends up corrupting your save file. A ton of people had to start over..

It is easy to make Bethesda the bad guy but if you have a deal that you accepted you can't really complain.

Paul Russel brought up a mooted del Toro script for a Halo movie, and brought up a surprising plot detail:

"Master Chief had a twin brother, and the twin brother sided with The Flood, and then the end of the movie was going to be brother against brother."

Christ! Disaster avoided, holy shit that sounds fucking awful.

What was Del Toro thinking...

Yuck. No wonder Hollywood can't do video game movies right if those are the kind of dumbshit ideas they come up with

Not sure what games I'm going to get/play first on Xbox Series X. I already got Cyberpunk 2077 pre ordered on Steam so that's out. Not that interested in much else coming out this holiday. AC, Yakuza, etc... are games I'll get when they're on sale and just throw them in my backlog

Edit: Overwatch, SoT, and Destiny 2 will be the games I play I suppose (so not buying anything). Hope Blizzard adds a 120fps mode to OW on console.

Considering Overwatch 2 is coming, I would say there is 1% chance that original one gets a proper next-gen treatment.

Well, if you have Overwatch the game will be updated with the graphics of Overwatch 2 and the MP is the same for both games so I think the chances are pretty high.

WTF I wish I was an influencer. I want that Xbox fridge!

Wtf.

Yes it actually works...

I was like... it's going to be Justine, isn't it?

Yes yes it was!

I was holding my breath for Linus.

As for my first game? The Medium. End of story.

Also, this might sound strange... but am I the only one who thinks Marianne (the protagonist) looks like Agni?
