Will Flight Sim 2020 be a launch game on Series X?

Delaying Infinite is for the best and honestly they should just cancel the XB1 version too since it’s very clear that the game being cross generation is hurting it on a technical level. It would also give the Series S/X a killer app for year one.

Crossfire SP should be good since Remedy is working on it but from what I played of the MP beta I doubt thats going to be very popular in the West.

It sucks that the Remedy developed campaign won't be on Gamepass. Saw that fine print on the recent trailer for the singleplayer. Only the MP will be on Gamepass.

Wait seriously? I thought campaign would be on GP. At the start of the show they said everything shown would be on GP.

Felt like Series X marketing revolved entirely around Halo Infinite Tbh, big blow so I wonder if they'll do anything to ease the impact, at minimum it feels like they'll have to undercut PS5 now with SX, not just price match it.

Market Gears Tactics and Flight Sim if they are coming to the Series X at launch.

This.

Gears Tactics and Flight Sim would be great launch titles, quality wise.

Sales wise, they'd be a bit niche on consoles.

But at least it'll be something, although I have my doubts Flight Sim can be ported that fast.

Well, most people have never really seen what Flight Simulator can really do. Announce FS with Mod Support and the fanfare you can muster and you'd have a good enough replacement for H6.

I'm actually happy about the Halo delay personally, though I understand why others are disappointed:

1. It was releasing very close to 2 other games I want to play, Cyberpunk and AC Valhalla.

2. It badly needs the extra time to fix the graphics, this is a generation spanning Halo, they can't release a game with those graphics and expect people to be happy with those graphics still in 2025 or 2026.

3. Xbox's 2021 lineup was lacking in AAA exclusives, with nothing but a possible Forza Horzion 5 release, the rest are smaller AA or A games like Flight Sim console port, Call of the Sea, The Ascent, Scorn, Second Extinction. Sony was probably going to mop the floor with them in 2021 with likely/possible releases for FF16 (insiders are saying it will release surprisingly soon), Horizon: Forbidden West, Ratchet & Clack Rift Apart, Demons Souls Remake, Ghostwire Tokyo, and Returnal in 2021. Adding Halo to their 2021 lineup alongside Forza Horizon 5 and the smaller games helps Xbox prospects in 2021 tremendously. In other words, 2021 needed Halo more, from a business sense, than 2020 did, as Xbox Series is most likely going to sell out in 2020 anyway even without Halo, considering Xbox One was selling out in 2013 in spite of all of the issues Xbox had at the time due to the reveal backlash.

Speaking of which, if still possible, I'd moneyhat FFXVI and if doable, Attia, away from PS5. I'm not saying moneyhat into Xbox so much as actually pay to rescind the clause giving Sony timed exclusivity. However, if the ink is dry this might be hard. They will need to join forces with CDPR and get marketing rights to CPNK if they want to have a decent launch.

Even then, there's also the Halo beta. I'd strongly recommend doing this, and bundling three weeks of GP with Series X.

Going to buy Series X for Cyberpunk anyway and I hope Gears Tactics will be a launch game too. There will be no shortage of games to play, that's for sure!

Tbf their both pretty mediocre, least Sony has something to be fair. Definitely worse than PS4/Xbox One launch for sure. Hopefully they get something on game pass... anything.

Yeah, neither has a great launch lineup, though Sony's is better overall.

Microsoft has:

AAA

  • CrossFireX

AA

  • Gears Tactics
  • The Medium

Sony has:

AAA

  • Spider-Man Miles Morales DLC (probably 15 hours tops considering they've only had 2 years to develop it)
  • Deathloop

AA

  • Kena: Bridge of Spirits
  • Godfall

A

  • Jett: The Far Shore
  • Astro's Playroom
  • Bugsnax

But, Microsoft can compensate for the weaker launch exclusive line-up with good pricing, having the Halo beta on launch, and pushing their 3rd party marketing deals harder with heavy advertising on them, especially AC Valhalla and Cyberpunk advertising that shows only the Xbox version at the end.

Well, you need to consider the fact that third-party games are going to look and play better on Xbox Series X.
Maybe it won't make a big difference in sales (probably not :)) but it is also a plus for the Xbox Series X.

We already know from several developers that the target resolution and/or framerate are higher on Xbox Series X :)

For Gears, while it is a AA, it is still a Gears game. I think it will push more device than the 2 AA from Sony.

And then you can add GamePass to this, I hope Microsoft is going to use this and do some serious marketing around it too.

About Cyberpunk: it will probably have only XBO X settings at first. Will you wait for the optimized Xbox Series X patch?
