I'm actually happy about the Halo delay personally, though I understand why others are disappointed:

1. It was releasing very close to 2 other games I want to play, Cyberpunk and AC Valhalla.

2. It badly needs the extra time to fix the graphics, this is a generation spanning Halo, they can't release a game with those graphics and expect people to be happy with those graphics still in 2025 or 2026.

3. Xbox's 2021 lineup was lacking in AAA exclusives, with nothing but a possible Forza Horzion 5 release, the rest are smaller AA or A games like Flight Sim console port, Call of the Sea, The Ascent, Scorn, Second Extinction. Sony was probably going to mop the floor with them in 2021 with likely/possible releases for FF16 (insiders are saying it will release surprisingly soon), Horizon: Forbidden West, Ratchet & Clack Rift Apart, Demons Souls Remake, Ghostwire Tokyo, and Returnal in 2021. Adding Halo to their 2021 lineup alongside Forza Horizon 5 and the smaller games helps Xbox prospects in 2021 tremendously. In other words, 2021 needed Halo more, from a business sense, than 2020 did, as Xbox Series is most likely going to sell out in 2020 anyway even without Halo, considering Xbox One was selling out in 2013 in spite of all of the issues Xbox had at the time due to the reveal backlash.

Good point on needing a 2021 game. Halo would be that big gun. Hopefully given the time they add ray tracing and up the graphics a little.

2021
-Halo
-Horizon 5

Anything else? Wonder if Hellblade 2 will be ready.

Also Yakuza going to bail out Xbox this Holiday jk

Right :) ? I wish they would use the exact same store on PC in the Xbox app (GamePass)

The Xbox UI is getting a redesign to look like the Store so it should come to PC in November.

Did MS confirm they are redesigning the dashboard? Seems unlikely given the effort they put into changing and polishing the current one in the last half of year

This generation is going to start pretty interesting with how sales will be affected from Covid. Lot of increase game sales though. 4-5 million by the end of the year for Series X? I'm no sales guy, so idk...

Can't wait to see 2021 to become the year without COD

Yeah they confirmed back in May. They said they'd share more on the dashboard this summer.

Ok guys, enough with the overreaction. Losing Halo doesn't hurt Xbox Series launch prospects much at all. You guys saying that are forgetting so many factors here:

1. Xbox One had the 3rd biggest launch for a game console ever back in 2013 (only behind PS4 and Switch), and that was in spite of Xbox One still suffering from the aftereffects of it's reveal backlash (always online, anti-used games DRM, Kinect spying, etc.), and being priced $100 more than PS4.

2. Xbox Series still has a solid line-up of 2020 exclusives; Gears Tactics, The Medium, and Crossfire X. It will also have graphical updates for several current gen Xbox games on launch, including Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5, The Outer Worlds, and Ori 2. Plus a great lineup of 3rd party games including Cyberpunk (with Xbox marketing), AC Valhalla (with Xbox marketing) Dirt 5 (with Xbox marketing), and Madden (with Xbox marketing).

Xbox Series X will sell fine later this year, especially if the recent rumors are true and MS does undercut PS5's price on Series X. And if Series S also releases this year, Xbox Series is going to sell better than fine, that thing is going to fly off the shelves at the rumored $250-300 price point.

Well, the amount of goodwill from 360 gen was still enormous even after second half of the gen not looking good exclusive game-wise and all the initial launch controversy. Xbox One owes 360 big time for it's launch being successful.

*Thumbs Up*

CrossFire is pretty massive in Asia I hear? I wonder how well it will be received in the West.

I'd expect shortages from Nov-January at least, if Infinite is Spring then SX sales will maybe only hurt for 2-3 months.

in march would line up with the 3rd coronawave

Crossfire SP should be good since Remedy is working on it but from what I played of the MP beta I doubt thats going to be very popular in the West.

Imagine coming into a thread with no intention of buying the console ever, just to post some nonsense; absolutely crazy. Would be like me going into PC meta thread, does VGC even have one? And putting some BS that no one wants to see.

And yeah 100% agreed, hopefully MS get s good 3rd party deal on game pass like I think Shinobi hinted at, as well as undercutting Sony.
