Wow, another 6-month season. This means only 2 new maps for an entire year. How can 343 be this inefficient with releasing content, especially after a 1-year delay? This is really bad. I'm actually really pissed off right now.

FFS……I’m just gonna enjoy what the season has to offer for the first few months then take another break. Agreeing for the new season to be just a few days before Starfield’s launch makes me worried now that Starfield will be delayed…..

Not a fan of season 2 also being extended to 6 months, not a fan at all, that means just 2 new maps in the game's first year, for 12 total. Every other Halo game had far more maps by that point, even Reach which launched with less maps than Infinite.

I also agree that it's stupid to launch Halo Battle Royale with season 3 in November, far too close to Starfield in November, they should aim for December on Halo Battle Royale, a year after the game's official launch.

I guess it could be possible that Halo Battle Royale could launch in the middle of season 3 but that’s being optimistic at this point

Gee...another long ass fucking season....whoever could have predicted this....

It honestly blows my mind that when the Halo Infinite multiplayer team is this far behind with supporting Infinite with new maps, weapons, vehicles, etc. (content of substance rather than the over-focus on cosmetics), they have their top support studio, Certain Affinity, who usually did about half of the DLC maps for past Halo games, working on a Battle Royale mode that 343 promised wouldn't exist before launch ("the only BR we care about is the Battle Rifle").

I get it Battle royale is the fad right now, everybody wants a piece of that pie, but 343 clearly needed Certain Affinity to work on maps, since the game launched with just 10 and will only get 2 more in the first year.

I think most would agree that Battle Royal is past being a fad. It's the most popular multiplayer type of any mode to play. Fads die and this hasn't by any means. And I'm saying this as someone who cares very little for BR.

But I do agree that Xbox needs to bring in another studio to help, but it can't be Certain Affinity right now.

I keep seeing people want an achievement overhaul. What do you all mean by that if that's what you want?
All I'd like to see is less glitching, and them popping without massive delays or issues.

Equal plat trophy would be nice too. Doubt they are doing anything about it though. You'd have a better chance of Nintendo implementing a cheevo system than Xbox doing anything about theirs.

By fad I mean that only like 4 Battle Royale games have managed to have lasting success, Fortnite, Apex Legends, CoD Warzone, and PUBG, every other studio that has hopped on the Battle Royale bandwagon has failed to gain any traction with their battle royale games/modes: Worms Rumble, GTA V, Battlefield, Spellbreak, Fall Guys, Tetris 99, Hyper Scape, etc. It's much like the Souls-like fad, we have dozens of studios bandwagoning onto the trend, but almost all of them are failing to come anywhere close to the success of FromSoft's games.

I wonder what the actual chances are that Halo's Battle Royale will be able to break into the big 4 and make it the big 5?

It doesn't have to be in the top A or S Tier of BR games to be successful. As long the BR helps the game be more popular than if it didn't have it, then it did its job. Those other BR games that fail, fail for a reason not just because it didn't catch on. Btw, Fall Guys is pretty dang popular still, and only 1 of 2 BR games I actually enjoy.

If the Halo BR is good, then it will help Halo Infinite bring players. if it's really good, it will be as popular as the other top BR games.

Might just delete my response, I wish Zhuge and others would discuss it elsewhere, even come here and have a chat with Trunks.

It's really not this serious, Lol. We're an estimation website like dozens of others out there but we aren't allowed while others are, Idk, especially when taking into account that a lot of criticism is from shit that Ioi did and he has abandoned us, Trunks took over completely a few years ago, a lot of the criticism is towards shit that VGChartz doesn't even do anymore and Trunks is a lot more open and honest than Ioi is, it feels like a lot of outdated criticism and it's just unfair.

I was more active around 2007-2011, which I would consider the prime time of VGChartz. If I remember correctly, ioi was getting a considerable amount of data from retailers and he used to extrapolate numbers from this data to give us weekly numbers for US, Europe and Japan. Everyone including ioi no these numbers weren't accurate or official but we loved the fact that we got weekly numbers to discuss. Those numbers will be modified once we get NPD numbers, which were available then, or official shipment numbers. The man was trying but people from NeoGaf didn't give a chance. The downfall of the website was around 2011-2012 when they tried to do too much to justify monetizing members or media outlet. The website/team wasn't ready for that shift. In the middle of that, ioi suddenly left.

I believe having VGChartz around pushed publishers to announce first week/month sales. I wish we could go back to those days of having weekly software numbers although I doubt that with games being digital more and more now.

I love ioi for the fun years he gave us discussing what we love. Too much effort and dedication from his side to be able to do it with little reward, if any.

Voted Achievements, honestly all I want is the option for the achievement popup banner to be like all the other banners with squared edges.

you monster!

Why in the world can't they just give us some Forge maps which may look simple but all they really need is to be some kind of balanced for both sides and people will enjoy them. No, they just give us two "real" maps in a year, wait for the Forge release forever even if a simple version would be fine already and don't give us at least some simple forge maps they could have made on their own.

They are truly one of the biggest jokes in this industry right now. Who the fuck needs years for a few damn maps with such a huge team and is still not able to release a simple version of Forge?

Even I start to get bored a little and I really have no problems to play some maps hundreds of times.
