Microsoft is not a beast when it comes to software sales at all which is why they don't report software sales, only number of players which is skewed by dollar game pass subscriptions.

yeah. Some of the third parties and almost every indie publisher find better sales on Switch.

You must be living in a different universe or alternate world then all X Box consoles have been beasts when it comes to software sales.

I highly doubt that, third party support is still lacking overall on the Switch. Nintendo is great when it comes to first party sales but that was the case already when they still had third party support from everyone in the NES and SNES era.

Its still a beast when it comes to software sales and that is what really matters since consoles are usually sold at a loss. |
Selling hardware inherently improves software sales, if software sales are what really matters, then selling hardware is what really matters too. You can't sell software without selling hardware. Which is why XBO software sales are less than half of PS4's.
VGC software figures for end of 2018 are 652m for PS4 and 295.5m for XBO.
Can't use official figures for Xbox because Microsoft don't give out figures that make them look worse.
You can't be a software beast when you have a low install base.

I'd be very surprised if you can name me a third party game that does better on Switch, that isn't Japanese anyway. Performance of games like Fifa and Wolfenstein is abysmal by comparison to Xbox and PlayStation.
Indies do have success on Switch though.

40 million plus consoles is not a low install base.
The Crash N Sane Trilogy, I believe sold better on Switch than Xbox One.

That depends on perspective. Relatively it is low. It's half their previous console, the average PlayStation home console sells 112m and it's one of 3 current video game systems on the market that is going to be outsold 2:1 by both of the others.
Whether you compare it to it's peers or it's predecessor, it's low.

Yeah nope the only consoles recently that actually had low install bases where the PS Vita and the Wii U.
