Forums - Gaming Discussion - Gaming Griefs : do you hate it when...

That happened all of the time when I first got my ps4. Eventually, we just ended up getting a big enough external so it's not much of an issue anymore. One day I'll probably have to delete some shit but by the time that happens, there will definitely be a long list of games I probably wouldn't play again anyways.

When I first got my PS4 I had this happen 1 time. But now I have a 2TB internal and 4GB external so that’s no longer an issue. And I delete any disc-based games that I won’t be playing again. Most my disc-based stuff gets sold to Gamestop after I complete them.

PC GAMING: BEST GAMES. WORST CONTROLS

A mouse & keyboard are made for sending email and typing internet badassery. Not for playing video games!!!

wow thank god I don't have a PS4 then.
Would happen to me all the time, since I've got enough space issues already with about 4TB of installed games. That would basically force me to leave 50GB-100GB unused just incase there are updates. I usually have sub 10GB available....

Why would you need 60gb for a 5gb patch?

Probably some sort of back up the PS4 creates in case something goes wrong (file corruption) while patching.

I respect you racing well, but as a tuning admirer irl sound is a thing. A civic isnt a range rover. Most f1 fans would agree that sound is pretty imporant

GT Sport ditched tuning. The last time you could tune cars in daily sport races was half a year ago. I like the level playing ground GT Sport provides as I'm not interested in tuning. You can still tune in lobbies of course.

Upgrades have completely been ditched in favor of a simple level up system to adjust overall power and weight, which is always locked by BOP settings for competitive (ranked) races.

I like the game just for that. Knowing everyone is playing with the exact same tools (bar wheel/controller differences) makes it more fun for me. There are still some minor things you can tweak while racing (brake balance, TCS, fuel mixture) yet I mostly ignore those. Short shifting works better to save fuel than changing the mixture and messing with TCS and brake balance is not my thing.

The best thing about GT Sport is that you never have to wait long for a competitive 12 to 20 player race to start with a decently working penalty system to keep the races civil. (Take decently with a grain of salt, people always finds ways to abuse the system and PD keeps tweaking it on a monthly basis to combat dirty driving)

However if you're more a grease monkey than a jockey, GT Sport is not the game for you.

You get a patch that is around 5gb and you have 60gb of free space but your game is bigger you still need to delete shit?

I don't understand. Maybe some punctuation or an 'and' or something there would help?

Are you saying that if the size of the game (that is already installed) exceeds the amount of free space you have, then even a small patch can't be installed?

If this thread is about installation file issues on consoles, then please make that apparent in the thread title.

Dont look for a reason to ban me thanks, as you can read in the op its about any gripe or annoyance, that was just my major peeve at the time

To clarify i have a game of 80gb big, i have 60gb free, i have a patch of 5gb, i need to delete 20-25gb to be able to get the patch

Will add more when i feel like it this is just grinding my gears right now

Edit : titles are clickbaity

Edit 2 : the game didnt play as the trailer promised/showed

I dont understand the edits.

anyways, because of how downloads/ patches are applied, you usually need around double the amount of data the game itself is. Sometimes this isn't quite the case, but how big is the game itself before the 5gb patch?

You mean this?
"Will add more when i feel like it this is just grinding my gears right now"

I thought that might mean "I will add more details about this later. It's just bugging me right now so I wanted to get it off my chest."

Especially since I couldn't understand the issue you were describing, and it was described very briefly.
Your thread title was reported by other people who were also confused, so I had to look into it.

Then just make it clear in that sentence that it's about anything that bugs you gaming wise, to avoid further confusion/reports.

Hmm, first I've heard of that. What I do know is that you need twice the size of the file.
In this case 5GB to download, and then 5GB to install. You'll get back that extra 5GB after the installation is complete, because it erases the downloaded file.

Maybe it's a combination of that and the system keeping some disc space reserved for something like future OS updates?
Because the 20-25GB doesn't really add up to the 80GB size of the game, so I'm not sure how related it is to the game's size.

I dont mind you reacting to reports but those users could have infered what i meant by not only reading, but also thinking about it.
Regarding the main issue discussed, even minor updates need that much space free, honestly i would be fine with it being showed as reserved but it doesnt even do that
