The left wing bias is humanity. The majority of humans possess humanity, so it will always be a bit skewed to the left. |
Humanity is terribly flawed so you're not saying much. |
Flawed, yes.
But one thing being in the emergency services has taught me is that... In great times of need, humanity bands together to help each other out.
And that is something that we can all absolutely be proud about.

That same kind of person would likely be on the tax-free threshold so would be paying zero/almost zero tax as well.
On top of one of the best universal health care systems and highest standards of living in the world... Hence why I would like to see the USA take note and copy other nations more closely who have been successful in various aspects rather than do their own thing... |
it's stuff like this that annoys me the most, because America resists anything that works because it's not 'their way', even though it's been proven to work. Their patriotism and nationalism means they don't care about doing it the right way, they want to do it the American way. They outright HATE socialism and anything left of center even though...like, almost all of the top rated countries in the world are either socialist or very near to it. They're misconstruing 'hard left radical socialism' like in Venezuela or with outright communism like China when that's not what places like Australia, Canada, Britan, and most northern European nations are doing. but no, none of those facts or examples matter, all that matters is that it's not 'the American way'. And that stubbournnes mixed with so many other things make me feel like America is just a childish brute of a country, and Trump did NOT help matters. |
I don't get the disdain for it, honestly.
Yes socialism can be a bad thing in excess, but so can capitalism... Capitalism when there are monopolies in a market like in healthcare will end up pricing products/services to the maximum the market will handle, often pricing low-income earners out of a market entirely sometimes.
That is in stark contrast where socialist intervention can bring those costs down significantly by placing profits second and making it more manageable for low income earners.
But nations like Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Britain haven't given up capitalism in favor of socialism, we are just leveraging the benefits of socialism (I.E. Lower Healthcare costs and higher quality healthcare) to benefit the entire nation. It's a hybrid approach. It's not a bad thing.
Sometimes sensible Government planning and intervention in a market to stop abuse is a good thing. Who would have thought?
Honestly would like to see the USA take on a European hybrid Private/Public healthcare model, introduce gun control like Australia (To many CHILDREN are being killed.), bring education back to public hands, increase minimum wage to $20 USD an hour, take action on climate change.
