Okami
(Change YoY: -3)
This is one game I really need to replay one of these days. It's been almost ten years since I last played Okami, and for a game I consider the best Zelda-style game in existence, that's far too long of a time. Even today, Okami is one of the best looking games ever made. The watercolour inspired art style is absolutely gorgeous. The unique gameplay mechanic of the celestial brush was also a stroke of genius that gave the game its own unique flair that no other game has.
If there is one notable weakness, it's the fact that in the original PS2 release, which I played, you can't skip any of the dialogue, making the first few hours of the game a massive chore to get through, as it really feels like you're just running from one overlong cutscene to another. Fortunately, after the first few hours the game opens up and quickly gets really good.

Super Smash Bros. for WiiU
(Change YoY: NEW)
The first new game in my top 50 this year, Smash Bros. for WiiU is basically here as a direct replacement for Brawl. Much of this is entirely because of the improvements made to the gameplay, most notably getting rid of the stupid tripping mechanic in Brawl. It does lack a proper single player story mode, but besides that one unfortunate omission, Smash Bros. for Wii U is (so far) the best game in the series. That may change with the release of Ultimate soon, but right not this is the best possible Smash experience you can have. Playing with up to 8 players at once is just so much fun that very few games can match it.
