How much of Wii's software were "Wii" titles though? Specifically Wii Sports? 

nintendo shipped 300k for a quarter and remianed with a 10 million forcast when there was 0 chance to make the forecast.

I thought it was 50% of Switch owners that pay to play at first. Maybe drop that bit from the thread title since as others have said it's a meaningless figure. Otherwise good numbers, but now it's as I expected, they'll need to sell 15 million in 6 months to reach their goal. Definitely not impossible but it'll be really close.

If you check the Earnings report for 2013, the Wii U forecast for Apr '13 to Mar '14 stands at 9 million in the first and second quarter reports and then falls down to 2.8 million in the third quarter report. 

So your statement that Nintendo never lowers their sales forecast was (of course) false. It does seem that they bank a lot on the third quarter to meet their expectations and will only lower their forecast if their holiday period is disappointing.

Very impressive numbers from the Switch.

Consoles always gaining attach rate buy time, Switch has good attach rate for 1st year and a half.

In regards to Nintendo's 20 mil forecast. I think Nintendo hoped the Labo kits would perform better than they did, if you look at the Labo release dates and Switches slow months this assumption makes total sense.
Nintendo will lower their forecast to probably 18mil but the Switch will definitly sell more than last year.
