Forums - Sony - PlayStation Classic Full Games Lineup Revealed

Pre-order cancelled. This thing is a joke at $100.

I honestly believe they are holding out on a Duel Shock Mini where games like Ape Escape and Colony Wars will release on it. I guess they might be waiting on the success of this one first.

What did you hate about it?

After a friend showed me Tekken 2, I got my PS1 in 1997. Toshinden was a free pack in. Controls were so bad. Maybe they were better in 1995 but by '97, they were horrendous. The whole game felt cheap. Even for free, I hated it (and this was at a time when I LOVED fighting games). I think there was a match where I used a special move and my character hovered in the sky clucking like a chicken and then flew right out of the ring. I decided I never wanted to play it again.

I casually took the game out of my console and ate it.

This is some sick Hannibal Lecter type shit my friend.

If it was to be a once off then I would agree with going with  certain sequels, but if you are looking to continue with say a classics 2 , Destruction Derby starts to make sense ,and with  just twenty games FF7 and wild arms covered the jrpg need while leaving room for diversity.

Classics 2.... like a whole different collection you have to buy? That sounds even worse.

It makes no sense to include the worst installments in some of these franchises.

Well they fucked up by not making it online, so we could choose future games to download  from the store , so I guess classic 2 here we go.

Battle Arena Toshinden - 0.65 Million units in the west.

Destruction Derby - 0.9 Million units worldwide

Intelligent Qube - 0.22 Million units in the west.

Jumping Flash! - 0.3 Million units worldwide

Mr. Driller - 0.4 Million units worldwide

I've never even heard of these games before. There was almost no media coverage for these games when they came out. Fans don't talk about these games or even mention them.

Those were some popular games they were also featured in those early demo's.

The thing has USB ports so... you could connect it up to a PC and change games.

Man what a lame list of games. Like, some great franchises on there, but the games they included from those franchises, why? Like Destruction Derby for example. Why the original, when Destruction Derby 2 was way better? Or doesn’t this thing come with two controllers? Why not DD Raw, the best one, which also has split screen MP? Same for games like Twisted Metal and Cool Boarders.

Where’s Wipeout? Rally Cross? Spyro? Tomb Raider? Crash? Why is Rainbow Six, which on PSone was by FAR the worst port iirc even included here? It ran at like 16 FPS and was shit to control. Why not one of the many many many iconic RPGs from PSone? Vagrant Story?

Japan’s list looks way better imo.

A $100 PlayStation Classic stocked with filler titles around a few big names, so that they can release another $100 PlayStation Classics 2, inevitably also stocked with filler titles propped up by a few big names?  That sounds awful.  I think any attempt at releasing another Classic from the same software library would receive serious backlash/bomb once it was realized the best titles from both should have been on the original release in the first place.  It would be like if there were multiple NES Classics, and they parceled out Super Mario Bros and Zelda on the 1st one, Super Mario Bros 3 and Zelda II on the 2nd one, etc...

No Legend of Dragoon or Chrono Cross. My favorites games as a kid. :(

You know how it works you have your opening acts like FF7 to warm up the crowd and later the headliner turns up, this case is a little different since they are  testing out a new circuit so you send out some acts to gauge  the response and work out the kinks and then comes the Playstation Classics 2 tour with LOD.

They could have a PSOne Classic but honestly that would just not be good for them.

Selling too many of those things will make them each have less appeal and people wondering why was not everything in the same system.

I think that COULD (not that it should) work only with it, tho, with a system that have dualshocks and more newer games, but you know what? They would still not have LoD on it. FF9 would be a given and you can be sure they would pick Chrono Cross instead of LoD.

They could have fixed it by making it downloadable so you get the 20 preinstalled and buy more from the store.
