Maybe the data couldn't be separated from other HTTP-traffic, while the PSN-data was more clearly to identify in packet inspection. Could be possible, as Steam-downloads probably are normal HTTP-streams, while PSN might or might not use other ways to distribute the data.

Interesting indeed. Netflix and YouTube I understand, but Sony? More than meets the eye I guess. Thinking about it, it sounds reasonable when you account for the fact that you have video and music streaming from Sony while the PS4 has the largest console userbase. About YouTube, I've been getting a fair amount of music from them as of late as well as a lot of MMDs.
